One of the few things I dislike about the Stinger, and I really do love this car, is the fact that they do not have a USB port in the armrest console. I don’t like to have my phone charger cord showing and laying all over the console. I’m somewhat anal about my cars and like them to look real clean inside. So I decided to rectify the issue and while I was at it, I ran my Valentine radar detector cord through the console, under the dash, up the A pillar and to the left corner of the front windshield. Again with the mindset of making sure my cords are hidden. Attached are some before and after pics and some videos.

Nice work! Looks clean. The picture of the fuse or ODB panel, did you just curve around through it or are you getting some power from it?

I stopped using my Valentine a while ago when Laser seemed to be what's used most on Florida highways...not much time to react. Waze seems to (usually) give me more warning. Maybe I should put the Valentine back in.

Nice job. For my dash cam, I just wired straight into the rear view mirror so no no cable at all. The only cable I have is for my phone but I need to find a solution for that. Shorter cable probably.

The picture of the fuse box shows the cable I routed it through the side panel (had to remove that) then by the fuse panel, I actually zip tied the cable to the factory harness (don’t like wires hanging) then under dash to the console. So my power is coming from the port in the console not fuse box. I use Waze and Valentine. It saved me lots of times last month driving from NJ to Parkland, FL.

How did you manage to wire directly into the rearview mirror? Strip the wire and solder on a cable or is there a plug that came with the dash cam? Interesting idea.

I will try to post something soon when I have time. It's super easy on this car. You just need the adapter which shows out of stock right now.

how much cable length to do you have now that it is coming out of the center armrest? Sometimes I like to have the phone in my my hand so having a good amount of slack is nice.

The Stingers that have wireless charging don’t have the extra 12v socket in the console. I ran my dash cam form the rear seat one.

I bought the longest apple charger cord. I have tons of length. Plus I can push it back in the hole and hide it.

I bought the GT2 heavily optioned my car didn’t have that.

In addition to the wireless charger there is one 12v socket. There is another one accessable from back seat in the console under the vents.
US doesn’t offer the wireless charger. Yes I have a 12v behind the console for rear seat passengers so I don’t want to route the wire from there and then the rear seat pax can’t use that.

That wireless changer gets my phone hot, going to run a cable to the centre console.

Nice job! I did the same when I changed out the cupholder for the covered version. Got the idea from StingerGTandMe. Ryan rocks!20180301_004832_001.webp
