Hi Everyone, I placed my order for a red Stinger GT Nov. 29th. And now waiting on delivery! Unlike some of the other members here in Melbourne who are expecting vehicles in the next few months, I'm being told to expect a 6 month wait by the customer service team at Kia.

The dealer in all honesty has been no help just referring me to Kia directly who are even less helpful. Kia have said if I hadn't been allocated a VIN number that I'd be waiting a long time. They've never even asked me for my order number. Will be interesting to see what happens when they ramp up marketing in Australia for a vehicle they are already struggling to fill orders for.

Hopefully, it's not 6 months!

Welcome to Stinger forum ezascanbe, i ordered my Stinger on November 2nd, i have not been told anything about having a VIN number, maybe i should call the dealership just too make sure my Stinger will not take any longer than late Feb.

Thanks MelbourneStinger! I ordered mine in Blackburn, let me know what they say.

Having read through the posts below....

Kia Stinger - Australia discussions (pre-release)

It seems like a very common issue with a total lack of communication from Kia Australia. It's a real shame, as they had the opportunity to really wow the customers who are jumping on the brand for the first time and build that brand loyalty they are clearly aiming at with the Stinger.

I don't believe that lack of communication is limited to Australia. It's much the same way here in the Midwest U.S.

Welcome aboard, @ezascanbe! Thank you for signing up! Wow... A 6 month wait. That's crazy. That's the longest I've heard so far and I have a strong feeling you'll have your Stinger long before then. Like Kazz said, the waits are happening everywhere. Kia really needs to start hiring more help in the factories or something. The Stinger is a highly desirable car but people aren't going to wait forever for it when there are other very nice options out available...

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
My dealer here in Sydney is also saying 6 months, that’s the directive from Kia AU, I was told that when I ordered mine 16th Oct. took delivery 30th Nov. approx. 7 weeks & mine is an Oct 17 build.
It’s based on a first in best dressed deal as soon as you order from the dealer they put your order in the system & the next car to your required specs is allocated to you.
