I don't usually make introduction threads on forums, but I wanted to get rid of that "introduce yourself" message that kept popping up. Well played, I guess.

I'm just some guy shopping for his second car after driving his first car for 13 years. I'm not even sure if I can afford a Stinger, lol. My budget is like 35k. I'm looking for something that looks/feels like a sports car (sedan) but also gives a smooth ride and has automatic transmission. Other than the Stinger, what would you people recommend?

Hi Jumpy, in reponse to your question, the following cars come to mind:
Optima, Sonata, Camry, 2018 Buick Regal SportBack (German Opel rebadged), Civic. Others will probably add to this list.....

Hi Jumpy. Welcome! So... Feels like a sports car and smooth... That's a rough one. moinmoin mentioned the Camry. The upcoming 2018 is supposed to be really good. It's supposed to handle well and be smooth riding at the same time. It's also got 300hp now. Not too bad. The 2017 Accord is the last version with the V6 but you might like the 2.0T... I just have a feeling the Camry will be better for you.

The 2018 Regal is also going to be really nice. And there's supposed to be a GS version. The Sonata and Optima are pretty good but I'm not sure they have enough power 'stock' for you. The Civic is getting raving reviews. There's not a lot out there that fits the description of your needs but I'm sure others will chime in.

When I saw this video 6 months ago, I almost immediately contacted Buick to see if it would be the next Regal--they told me there were no plans for that. Then GM sold Opel and I lost hope. Then they sent me a promotional email saying it would be the next Regal. If I hadn't seen the Stinger by then, which I hope will be a superior car, I would have been sure the Regal would be my next car, despite a service rep at Chevy telling me that now is not a good time to buy GM. The Regal is still my fallback option.

Judging from promo emails Buick sends me, it looks like it will be in showrooms a little before the Stinger at a lower starting price than the Stinger.
