Hi! Tell me all I need to know as a new owner of a 2019 Stinger GT1. I don't feel like I got much info from my sales guy. Added remote start installed at the dealership. Traded in a mom-mobile, a 2016 Honda Pilot, so this is TOTALLY different. I had a 2011 Optima that I LOVED before I bought the Pilot. So, I've owned multiple cars, but this one is so different, even compared to the BMW 325i we owned before the Optima. I LOVE KIA.

Welcome glossy08. Certainly a change from the mom-mobile you were driving before. Are you enjoying the Stinger. That is a very general question. Is there something in particular you need to know. I'm sure you will get most questions answered on this forum.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your Stinger GT! I’m glad to hear you’re noticing the uniqueness of the Stinger. I’m glad you found us! :)

Tires. Rear tires.
I think our cryptic cowboy is talking about the Stinger being so tempting and easy to "hoon" about with. Some drivers have gotten less than 5K miles out of their rear Michelin Pilot Sport tires (I, a grandpa, got over 18K out of my OE rear tires:laugh: ).

Welcome to the forum, "Glossy". (love that handle) I will happily chat about GT1 Stingers "all day" (in between RL stints, of course).

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Hi, everyone! Yes, I'm LOVING my Stinger! My husband.... he's not so much of a fan...yet. He seems to notice things like cabin noise (I call it more of a purr), low mpg... anything negative. He's not loving it. He was not with me when I purchased, although he knew what I was going after. Anyway... I do wonder what driving mode I should be in most of the time? He thinks I should be in ECO mode all the time, but that's not as much fun.
Side note on my driving habits... it literally takes me 8 minutes to get to work one way... I purchased October 10th and just hit 3000 miles...idk if that's about average. .. these tire remarks have me confused... or maybe concerned.... Sorry to be a total girl in this! I'm definitely no car guru, but I've said repeatedly, this thing is gonna get me in so much trouble. Lol I've quit at a measly 108, but I'm also not trying to lose my license.

Congrat's on the new Stinger! My only concern would be the short trips, 8 Miles may not be enough to get the engine hot enough to burn off condensation in the crank case - solution: Drive it in Sport mode!

Gas mileage is gonna look like its poor if youre driving 8 minutes one way to work, the engine oil temps barely get to normal, if at all (depending on your climate and current temperature). Driving in ECO is ok in city traffic. There is a small difference in gas mileage compared to Comfort but Comfort keeps the car a bit more agile.
But occassionally do take your Stinger out for a run, these types of engines / cars almost 'require' some pushing every once in a while to keep them healthy.

Cabin noise; be wary with that, if it is just general wind noise etc, that is OK even though compared to what I've driven in the past, Stinger is very good in that department. If it is a rattle or a creak, then have a look around on the forum, there are plenty of topics about sunroof rattles or door creaks, those things can be fixed with some DIY (your husband surely can help if things prove to be a bit difficult) or have your dealership deal with it.

Yeahhhhhh... I'm in Southern Illinois so we get some pretty cold winters. I typically start my car in the garage and let it warm up for 5-10 minutes before I take off. Not sure if that helps or not...lol

Soooo, I HAVE been driving in comfort mode some... you saying it keeps it more agile makes sense. I've said that I can't tell EXACTLY what the difference IS, but I like it. I do occasionally switch it over to sport mode, just for fun and the sound of it. I can't seem to keep my foot out of it in ANY mode, so I'm sure that's also part of my mpg issue. ‍♀️ Whatever. I've always said, I drive to get where I'm going, NOT for gas mileage. I've had a couple young dudes try to race and I KNOW I could've taken them, but I had my 15 year old with me and was trying to be responsible, so I backed off. Sadly.
The sounds....yes, probably wind and road noise, nothing abnormal like rattles or squeaks. I don't usually even notice it because I've usually got the stereo blaring or the sunroof open (when it's warmer, lol).
Has anyone experienced hot cupholders and/or keys in the tray?

Best thing is to let everything warm at the same rate - even though the engine is warm the trans is still cold. Generally I'll let it run for a few minutes if its really cold, drive it gently out of the subdivision and then do a couple of runs in sport mode to get some heat into the engine.

The only thing i can tell you is that you are beautiful and your car as well. You will enjoy this car so much...

Forget ECO mode. That's not what you bought a Stinger for. I have mine in Custom mode all the time with the engine/steering in Sport and the suspension in comfort. You can really feel the difference in power when you go from comfort to sport modes. Haven't experienced the hot cupholders or tray. Maybe a result of the heated seats.

Sounds like a good plan! Thanks!

I was going to remark on your photo but GenesisG70 beat me.
Lol, thank you anyway! As I told GenesisG70, I was pretty proud of my purchase! I felt like a cat that ate the canary! Ten grand in rebates and I did it ALL by myself. I call it "my FIRST big girl purchase" as well as my "mid life mobile". I bought it a month after I hit 40. Life is short, my girls are almost to both be driving... I'm gonna drive somethin sweet!

On warming the thing up: it warms up best while moving (under load). I had to be convinced of this last winter. My MO was to let the car sit idling until I could see oil temperature gauge starting to appear above 100 degrees. But discussion on this topic convinced me to just start rolling within a minute of startup. My shortest run is three minutes to church. The engine temp needle often hasn't even started to move yet by the time we get there, which annoys me a lot. So, after church I take the long way home; heading out in the opposite direction then backtracking on the local highway. That way everything reaches a good operating temperature; although the oil temp is still not quite up to c. 200 degrees (which is full operating temperature).

If I had such a short commute to work every day like you do, I'd take a longer route home to let my car stretch her legs. It's fun besides. :D
