I worked as mechanic for 15 years at a Ford dealer and always had Fords, until I ordered a new 2018 GT mustang PP1. And broke the 6sp after 2 weeks. didn't have the car for a month while the trans was being replaced, and my neighbor said I should have drivin the stinger first, so I went and drove it and bought it the next day. I was always Brand loyal but after driving something other then a Ford I will buy another Stinger again.IMG_2531.webp

Congrats and welcome to the forum! Nice color choice you got there.

Congrats, I have both a Stinger and Mustang also.

Would be curious to hear what your thoughts are driving one vs. the other. Despite being in different segments, they are often compared.

Congrats, looking at that picture am guessing your not in Edmonton. That Stinger and Mustang would be camouflaged here, lol

Is that Port Dover?

Yes it is Port Dover, I also have a white F150 which my son races and my wife has a white 4dr wrangler. As for the difference between the mustang and stinger. I was trying to relive my old fox body mustang days but the current generation is completely different. The new GT was a great car but the 6sp is a pile of junk, I would still have the car if I got the 10 speed auto but I was leary of a new transmission so I went with the manual and it broke after 1500km when I was at the drag strip. The dealer put a new trans in but it never shifted properly after and I was scared to drive it like it should be driven. Impulse buys are the worst and this was supposed to be a toy but my son got his G2 and always had my pickup so it became a daily driver and was not really that comfortable for daily 100km round trip commuting. Plus the AWD of the stinger is nice and the heated/cooled seats and all the other standard features. As a toy the Mustang is the one to have, for everyday and Friday night drags, the stinger is the one to haveIMG_2192 (1).webp in my opinion.

I think this really sums it up. I had a 2015 Mustang GT for over 3 years before the Stinger. While the Mustang was definitely fun, as a DD, certain aspects made it less desirable. The not very great trans, squeaks and rattles galore, RWD in winter if daily driven (mine was), and just certain aspects of upkeep and inevitable degradation over time. When the rear end developed a creak that the dealer was having trouble diagnosing and I wanted fixed, I decided I didn't want to be paying for the car (20 months left) and paying to fix it, I just didn't love it that much...so here I am.

so what did she run and I'm assuming your tracks are currently closed so this wasn't recent lol

I traded a 15 Mustang for my Stinger, the day I realized it wasn't practical anymore was last summer I had the day off and I asked my 2 kids and friend if they wanted to go out for lunch--they declined because no one wanted to get into the back seat. I grew up on Lynn Valley Road and spent a lot of summers in Port Dover. That KIA dealer was a Pontiac-Buick dealer in the 70's, I can remember my grandfather buying a 1974 Laurentian new.

Canadians love white cars. Is it because they are boring?

Hi Chris.

(The title of this thread sounds like you are part of a support group like AA, so I gave the proper response :-))

The Stinger runs 12.90 the f150 runs 14.33. going for a jb4, larger intercooler, highflow cats and new down pipes. and hoping for 12.0 or faster and the f150 is getting a 2.9 whipple charger and hopefully 11.50.
