Just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi from Hawaii!!
I got my 2018 Micro-blue GT2 AWD a little over two weeks ago and am definitely loving it! It’s a definite game changer after having been driving a plug-in hybrid EV for the last three years...lol. I do miss the 40+mpg, but that’s it. Was definitely in need of more excitement in my life!
It’s a lease, but I’m really thinking about buying it out since (I think) I was able to get a great deal on it.
I actually originally leased a Premium 2.0T in mid-November on a pretty good deal as well, but felt like I settled a little bit since the dealer wasn’t willing to make a deal on the GT1/GT2 trims at the time (GT trim felt a little too basic for me). Well...fast forward a few weeks later and I noticed the same dealer had an awesome lease deal (498/month+tax/fees, 0 down) on the exact car I had been eyeing. After getting an even trade on the Premium 2.0T, I walked away a few hours later in this beast!
Other than the raw power and few extras of the GT2 over the 2.0T, the following stand out:
- Much smoother driving overall and much less vibration/stutter when the car shifts between gears compared to the 2.0T
- No more trunk rattle!! There was a noticeable rattling issue when driving on semi-bumpy roads with the 2.0T...even after the dealer had attempted an adjustment
- Amazing light grey Nappa leather seats vs the all black standard leather seats/interior
- Gas mileage...ughhh! I think I was averaging close to 25mpg on the 2.0T for the few weeks I had it. I’m right around/below 20mpg on the GT2. I think the mpg sacrifice is definitely worth it though!
This is getting pretty long, so bye for now! Have a safe and happy holidays!
