I'm not that technical with cars, but have been enjoying my new Stinger GT for the last few months, I think like a few of you, would like some more exhaust sound. Not sure I can justify 2.5k for the Kia exhaust though.

What (if any) are the options for some kind of tweak or after market system that will give it a bit of a lift?

Interested to hear everyones thoughts?

Thanks

Phil.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
drill a hole in your muffler ..........................JK

Welcome aboard and enjoy your new project car!

IMG_1134.webp Not sure about drilling a hole... LOL

Went to the local Muffler guy today suggested cutting out the two large back mufflers and putting in some smaller ones (about a third of the size) in instead so it would sound better but not noisey on the highway (I spend most of my driving on the highway),

cost about $500... thoughts anyone..? anyone done this..?

Phil.

Welcome to the forum @Phil11 & congrats on your new Stinger. Plenty of info here on exhausts I would recommend research before changes to ensure good note/sound & especially no drone on highway driving which would drive you insane, good luck & enjoy.

Birkdale. Wouldn’t be too many stingers in Townsville would there? I used to live in Mackay and it was all SS Commodores and Landcruisers. To be fair, I was one of the bevans in the SS.

Haha, yes its a bit of a V8 strong hold, but its getting better slowly...!! You happy with your stinger? Gt??

Yeah mate. Love it. Carbon copy of yours Hi chroma red GT. Thought I’d miss my V8 but this a more than adequate replacement.

cool..!!
how old is yours and how many k's have you done so far?

just would like a bit more sound and don't want to pay 2.5k, so as you can read from my post, just wondering if anybody has done what I'm think of doing for a fraction of the price

Welcome to the forum and to the Stinger "Hive"!

Yes there are a few inexpensive upgrades available and tons of ideas in the other "tuning" threads. A few quick suggestions are high flow SRI(short-ram intakes), and muffler deletes. Each are good for an extra 10-20HP, and cost between $100-$300. My DIY (SCAI)semi-cold air intake system dropped 0.1-0.2 off my 0-60 and only cost $100 total.

This is a great option with similar power gains as a full cat-back exhaust. I'm actually debating something like that, or axle-back for $450. A straight muffler delete would be about half the cost($250'ish), but would produce some drone on the highways. Your example would be quieter for the highway and is very similar to the "NGM Omega axle-back".{{ ImportShark }} NEW! NGM's Two New Axleback ExhaustsSound clips in the thread.
Just do a few more search on the forum or google "Kia Stinger muffler delete" videos for multiple examples.

Our Stingers are actually much quicker than the V8 SS!
Hope this helps and happy tuning!
Congrats again on your beautiful car and enjoy it!
