Heyo - software engineer from Minnesota here.
My dad picked up a 2018 Red Stinger GT2 AWD right when they came out. After driving it a few times, I fell for it, and an agonizing year plus later, I made the decision to pick up my own. I crawled this forum from time to time to help push myself to make the decision.
So - mid-winter I became the owner of a 2019 Ceramic Silver Stinger GT2. It's also AWD; it's Minnesota and I no longer have the garage space for a summer-only car since getting engaged. (Worth it!)
So far I've done two things with my Stinger:
1. A ceramic coating. which I'm... reasonably happy with.
2. Had 19" Vertini dark chrome wheels made, and threw some summer tires on them (Michelin Pilot Sport 4S). So much fun in sport mode with the RWD bias.
The things I'm tentatively planning to do by summer end:
1. One of the piggyback tunes, undecided.
2. A new exhaust, also undecided. Like the Borla, but it may be too loud for my neighborhood, and I want to be a good neighbor til we find a place... with less neighbors. Would be cool to hear some of the setups people have in person if anyone is in Minnesota, USA.
3. Rebadge, if I can get my hands on two quality "oval Es" - they are ordered from Sal here. Wary of rebadging without matching badge footprints, because of the ceramic coating.
If we end up moving to a house with a bigger garage in the next few years, I've had my eye on a Holden Monaro GTO for a while now.
