So i recently installed the new HKS BOVs I picked up from K8stinger. I fully understand these are for aesthetics and sound. Instead of getting that signature high pitch "chirp" sound, I am getting more of a whoosh sound (similar to when i only had my stock vented to atmosphere). This whoosh sound happens while driving under load/boost and at park. I made sure to double check my hoses for leaks. All seems tied down and secured. Any ideas why this is happening? Thanks

It's possible you might be using a vacuum hose that might be too narrow.

The ones I used were these 4mm ones.

Ucreative 5FT ID 5/32" (4mm) High... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B089LL4TMH?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I tried the 5mm too but they felt too loose. Also did you cap your intake recirculation connections? You will need a 1 inch chair cap that will be nice and snug. No need to use a clamp on it. That might be why you hearing the whosh sound.

The ones I used are these:

That should take care of the issue unless the bov are defective. I switched to the gfb bov a while ago but still have the hks. I guess I just like the gfb sound more and it engages far easier. Some people do the solenoid bypass but i tried it and it didnt feel right, even tho it was louder for sure. And ended up breaking one of the damn connections on the intake manifold so that was not fun. They are super fragile.

Hey, thanks for the response. So yes, I do have the recirculating caps on. It could be the hoses. I’ll have to look at buying some new ones and replace the whole system. I reused sections of the old braided hose and added a newer hose that’s a bit thicker. The diameter on the inside is 4.8.

Oh ok good they are capped. Yeah I never tried reusing the factory hoses. I also got me some different brass quality 3 way connector insteas of using the plastic one which I wasn't too fond of.

Gave a nice solid seal with that 4mm hose I linked earlier. That's what I use on my gfb 9012 bov and the hks too. Yeah try replacing the hoses with new ones that are all same diameter. Also just to be sure you did reuse the factory rubber seals from the stock bpv on the hks adapters right? It would leak if you didn't.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Gotcha. I’ll look into getting a brass three-way fitting as well. And make sure I use all the same length hose. It’s just odd how I’m not getting that chirp sound. I have a video with the files too large. I can send it to you on Instagram. You can find me at @KIA.KULTURE.

Ok cool I just followed you on there. I am there as @sismailian
