Joined so I can communicate and follow topics about my ride. In 2018 I bought my first Stinger GT2. December 2021, I traded it for a 2022 GT2 in Ascot Green. Picture below.

Love the car overall. Noticed some changes they made. Some positive and some not so much positive. Biggest peeve is the low beam headlights at night on the 2022 model. Notice some trunk rattling but I typically have the music so high that I don’t notice it, but when you have passengers in the vehicle and you’re trying to talk to each other, it’s noticeable. I also just recently had an issue with the parking sensor error or blockage come up last month. I knew my car was dirty that day. Got a car wash, continue to still happen, took her to the dealership. They said they fixed a faulty sensor but lo and behold, two weeks later I’m getting the message again. Haven’t gotten around to taking it back in again. What I do like is the added features like the blind spot and 360 camera. Rear heated seats are nice and the leather seat changes.

The only improvement I’ve made to the newest model is tinting the windows. Looking forward to checking out the new limited edition they announced if a dealer nearby gets one.

one 'tribute' is probably all the dealer will get, if they get one at all. if your really serious about swapping to a tribute you had better be the squeaky, enthusiastic wheel or it will be in and out before you even see it.

the low cast to the headlights was an issue from the getgo. many or most of us have raised our headlights.

You probably have a loose sensor connector or a failing sensor. somebody on here described that as their issue just last week.

Welcome to the hive!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your second Stinger! I’m glad you found us. :) There are a few discussions around here about fixing the hatch rattle. Not sure if you’ve searched and read through any of them. I’m really curious what the dealership is going to say about the sensor issue - again. I hope you’ll let us know. Otherwise I’m glad to hear you’re liking the newer model other than the low beams…

How do you go about raising the headlights?

a no. 2 philips screwdriver with 12" shank length, inserted into the hole as shown in the picture. get a screwdriver with a thin shank, not some cheapie with a fat shank or it won't fit into the adjustment hole. you park the car shining on a wall and mark the top of the lights on the wall with tape, then raise them by turning firmly. a lot of turning only raises the lights a little bit. I was parked maybe ten feet back and raised my lights over an inch by the tape. then later I lowered them back down a bit after noticing that my lights were hitting the side mirrors of most vehicles in front of me. now my headlights come to just below their mirrors. that's good enough reach to not feel like your driving into the dark.

I was looking for one in Ascot Green. It is my favorite offered color but none in my area. Had to go with ceramic silver.

That was the color I really wanted in the beginning. When we stopped at the dealership they had a few with ETA's 2-4 weeks out, but none in the color I wanted. They said we have this new green you can check out, and I went for it. I do like how it glistens in the sunlight. Depending on how the light hits it, it looks green or black and I have had people call it all kinds of shades of different colors. It grew on me. Especially with the tinted windows.

Nice, and welcome!

Question, if you don't mind. I am interested in tint for myself. How much for it run you and what were the specifics? Like which windows, tint% and tint type (i.e. ceramic). Trying to ballpark the cost.

Thanks!

You can fix the trunk rattle on most stingers by adding an additional washer to the plastic contact pieces on the trunk lid. Hope that helps!

Search the forum for 'hatch rattle', there's a lot of topics and potential fixes depending on how bad your rattle is and what you're willing to do to fix it. All of the solutions are DIY, but may require a home depot trip and a particular sized/shaped bit to remove the bump stops attached to the hatch.

IMHO this is a telling "feature" of Kia -- knowing about an issue that existed for the duration of a car's life cycle and was frequently complained about, but doing absolutely nothing about it from the factory. This and other things I've posted recently on the forum have me completely done with the brand.

That's only one of many reasons, and it's not even at the top of the list. But, yeah... that too.
