Greetings,

Ever since the Stinger was released I have been intrigued by it, and desired one. Finally, a couple of weeks ago, I found a solid offer on a vehicle that had shamefully been sitting in a lot 150 miles away in Wisconsin, for over two months- because mainstream car buyers were too ignorant to understand there were actually no issues with it (the car was part of the Sunset Yellow debacle, but was repainted by Kia). My research painstakingly complete, I realized that this was going to be my car. Finally, I'd have a Stinger.
So, with that- last Saturday, I made the 300 mile round trip, got the car- and drove back. This is the 2nd yellow car I have owned. I had been a huge Mustang fan, and had a 2005 Screaming Yellow Mustang, heavily modded, for many years, which I sold a few years ago. That car was close to my heart, and I think the yellow on this one tugged my heartstrings a little. I'm glad I made the choice to get Goldie, as I think, even though its only been a week- this has got to be the most fun to drive, superb handling, and simply "coolest" car I have ever owned. Goldie also rewarded me with something that I found when I popped her hood (separate post).
Stay tuned as I post and share all of my upcoming projects with you (starting Spring 2020), as well ask many of you certain questions about the car as they come up. Glad to be here.

Regards,

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your Stinger GT! I'm glad you found us... :)

Hey Lord Aastyra,

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on your awesome new yellow Stinger. As much as I love Mustangs, the Stinger will be a big upgrade from your 2005 Ford. There are so many great options to choose from when it comes to modifying your Stinger. We have one of the largest available collections and the only Stinger specific aftermarket store at www.k8stingerstore.com. If you have any questions about your new car or the products we carry feel free to reach out at any time. I hope you have a great weekend cruising in your new yellow beast!

All the best,
Daniel

Welcome and grats-- Two months?? I wish dealers here in the West were willing to give a solid offer on their damn near rusting cars that have been sitting on the lot since 2018!

Howdy. Your handle is very close to 'Straya, but I'm sure that's just a coincidence. (We have many Aussie members from there. :P)

I would have taken the Yellow GT that I saw, but it lacked two must-have features (sunroof and HK sound system). I have had a yellow car previously. But that had nothing to do with my heartstrings twanging for the Yellow Stinger that never was (for me)

Not sure we have any Lords in Straya Merlin. But anyway welcome my Lord. Congrats on the Stinger. Love the yellow, just wasn't brave enough to get that colour myself. Well done.

Surely you didn't all fit into that Bug did you Merlin.

The Dodge behind was also ours. :D I drove the Bug, my wife drove the van. I carried my bike on the Bug, I guess; don't have any recollection of doing that on this Bug (did it a lot earlier on an orange Super Beetle a few times). It's weird: I have zero recollection of what the bike rack on the Yellow Bug looked like.

I thought as much but it was funnier my way. Are they all your kids. You were a busy boy in your youth. :D

Yeah, to both. Now, of course, it feels like thousand year-old history, that happened to somebody else. What was I thinking? Thought, heh, probably didn't have that much to do with it. "One day at a time", put your head down and march blindly and resolutely into the future. When you're finally an "empty nester" (not really, but close enough), you look around and take a deep breath or two to clear your head, I guess. Feels a bit like that anyway. :D Pictures, like that one, make me feel very strange. Almost, I could believe that I am a replicant with "memories" stuffed into my head to make me feel real.

(edit to add: My mother, recently "released", apparently lost ALL of her memories; for sure, she had no emotional or empirical connection to anything that popped up in her feeble conscious. Watching that happen made, and makes, me wonder about how we access "reality". I am not very trusting of memory anymore; since it can literally be stolen by the insidious evil we facilely call "dementia".)

It's a pretty awesome picture. Nothing like a picture from your youth to make you remember how things used to be. :)

Welcome @Lord Aastyra, we don't have Lords down under, we do have a Dame Edna Everage though.
Congrats on a good deal for your Beauty. The Hive has lots of info, Enjoy ! :)

Lol- I hear you. What I call “solid offer” wasn’t necessary a deep discount, just a fair price when combining my trade in. The car had been in the lot since end of September- amazingly.

i don’t know of this Straya place in Australia- I only Aussie I ever knew was from Wolfsbane. The handle is a play on words- in the grammatical sense it would appear as “Astra,” which has a cosmic connotation.

Play on words, like a ping pong game, then: :D "Straya" is a beloved contraction of AuSTRAYliA. So it took my noticing the similarity between Aastyra and Straya to get this verbal "ping pong" going. I bet it's almost over, by now. :p

If we get picky, it should be spelled 'Straya.

Speaking of names, now I understand why you’re called MerlintheMad.

" Straya " is basically the Bogan way of saying Australia.

What's a Bogan? (Never mind, I looked it up:P) "Bogans" speak "Slurvian" no matter which country they hail from.

Bogan - an uncouth or unsophisticated person regarded as being of low social status.
"some bogans yelled at us from their cars"
