Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself here. I'm currently in California, but in about 7 weeks, we're moving to New Zealand (wife + 3 kids). As it is very exciting, one thing that came up was what kind of car to get....that's a tough one.

I currently drive a 2017 Mercedes C63s and I absolutely LOVE it. However, I cannot ship it there because the cars there are RHD. Same goes for the Yukon and Civic we have. I do have a BMW motorcycle I am going to ship over. But that's a whole different discussion.

So looking to buy a Sorento and a Stinger right when we get there. Reasoning behind the Stinger is this: the C63 has a HUGE price increase over the ones you get here (about USD$25k more for the same thing) and that is out of what I want to spend. Also looked at some other cars, but again, all German are way over-priced. Holden has some good cars, but they are EVERYWHERE there. For my budget, I can get the Stinger plus a ton of goodies to make it faster, handle better and look cooler...so there we go.

Currently working with a dealer to hopefully finalize a deal prior to arriving. Thanks for the add and I'm hoping to gain a ton of info from here and hopefully give some back :)

TL/DR: I'm moving from USA to New Zealand and buying a Stinger upon arrival.

I'm for sure planning on visiting AU! Lots more people there :). And yes, NZ does have some great driving roads. Excited to get the motorcycle as well.

It will take some getting use to driving on the correct side of the road:laugh: Some good drives over there.

:laugh::laugh:
We visited a little bit ago and it didn't take much to get used to driving on the other side of the road...the only thing I found was I kept turning the windshield wipers on when I would go to signal (the put the turn signal on the other side of the column)! :rolleyes:

Thats a trait of Japanese cars. I have the same problem in reverse- my Ford has the indicators on the left.

It was worse when I got home....my gear shift is on the right in the Mercedes and I put it in natural when I went signal. SMH

Soooo...if I may ask, what's the move about? Work? Change of scenery?

Kind of all of the above. Opportunity for business, change of scenery/lifestyle. That, and we have a true adventurous spirit.
You'll love it, a lot of unspoilt countryside. Went there last year- both islands. You going to North or south?

North for now. We have some time set aside to explore a little more (haven't been to South Island yet). Excited to see more of the countryside.

Welcome to New Zealand mate i live in Auckland. Absolutely awesome place to live very relaxed and lots of good roads to strech the stingers legs.
