I am from Brooklyn, NY, however I've been living in North Carolina for a few years while stationed at Fort Bragg. I've been in the Army for a few years now. This year 2020 has been hectic but a lot of good has also come from it for me. I recently got married and had my first born, Enzo. I currently own a little coupe (a 2015 Subaru BRZ), but I would really love to get behind the wheel of a Stinger! It'll be an upgrade for me and the family. I've already taken a look around this forum and I can tell people here are very clever, friendly, and helpful. You guys and gals are figuring out the ins and outs of the dealerships, the car itself, and the best strategies to buying it. I love it.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your marriage and Enzo! And thank you for your service. I’m glad you found us. :)

Welcome to the forum. I upgraded from the BRZ twin, the Toyota 86 when I got my Stinger. You won’t be disappointed. Not much room for a newborn in the BRZ.

Yeah, the space is the reason I want to upgrade. The Stinger just seems so perfect to me right now. At first I figured I'd buy a 2018 GT, but then I test drove a GT2... and now I'm reading on here you guys figure out a trick with lease buyouts to get a 2020 GT2 like nearly what I was going to pay for a 2018 GT2! Madness, let's see if i can make magic happen soon.

Good luck and let us know how you go.

Howdy. I replied to your question on "step by step" lease buyout. My contribution was spare to say the least. But really, the buyout is the final "step" and is pretty much a no-brainer. The lease itself, now, that is a whole other story. And I cannot advise on how to get your lease to be a super good deal. Just make sure that you dicker Out The Door price and not the monthly lease payment. Dealers will try and keep you focused on "how much can you afford to pay per month?" Don't go there. And no "extras" to jack up the price either. Just know what you want, how much you expect to pay and stick to that. (I didn't go in with the intention to secure a killer deal: I wanted to buy the car with the features that were non negotiable, at a price that was fair; and the dealership loved me for it, I am sure! :D).

Also, I grew up in NYC. I have read miserable stories about dealing with Kia dealerships. 1st dealership: I dealt with internet sales, filled out paper work prior to arriving, so I would qualify for the car. Made an appointment and showed up on time for a test drive. When I got there, sales person told me I cannot test drive until I agree to numbers. I said I cannot agree to numbers until I know I want the car. I was walking out when he changed his tune. I drove a GT in exterior Blue with Brown Nappa leather in a residential area and on the highway. Then we went back and he low balled me on my trade in, 8K less than Carvana was going to give me for selling it (which I showed him). He also gave me high numbers on the Stinger based on what others were paying in my area. He dismissed me like I was an annoying fly. I wanted to try the GT2 there. Bad, bad experience.

I had inquired about a Stinger at another Kia dealership. The sales woman was very nice and professional and promised she would make it worth my time. I actually texted her I did not have an interest anymore after the horrible experience at the 1st dealership. We met four days later and after test driving four stingers (all GT's) and four hours of back and forth on negotiations, we reached a deal. I am not sure I got a great deal, but a good or decent one. They came up on my trade to a good (not great) price and they also came down on the Kia. It was pretty grueling negotiations.

Hi welcome to the forum the Stinger is a huge upgrade from the BRZ in terms of power and practicality.
