I'm keith and I'm considering a Stinger GT in March.

I have owned a VXR 220 (a turbocharged Lotus derivative from GM), a Mazdaspeed 6, a Corvette C4 350ci. 7 Capris (the European Mustang), a few Saab Aero convertibles, a few Mercedes and an MX5. A mixture of muscles, turbos, japspeed. For me the Stinger looks special promises exciting performance and driving character and most of all is reminiscent of my personal performance Capris. Bring on November for a test drive.

Replacing a Mercedes E220. I worked in the US for two years and returned in 2016. I leased an E Class for 2 years whilst I sorted what I really wanted to get and that will come up in March, so I need to make a decision by Xmas and order a vehicle.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class is a tough act to follow! But I think the Stinger GT will give you a good mix of luxury and power...

The Stinger has much more power than a 220 (stinger being more akin to an AMG) and the standard spec of the GT is very high. Merc is ok, but someone specced the Stinger lovely in terms of seats, steering wheel, etc. and it is just so different - a real head turner and an unknown quantity - I like that. I have always loved fastbacks with a tailgate and think that the Stinger could sit in that really special space. I hope I am not building unrealistic expectations, but I'll also be testing the AMG, various BMW Msports, a Boxster and others. But none of them have that special Q factor and certainly not the price which leaves change for a nice Motorbike!

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Well, keep in mind that this is Kia's first shot at this so I don't expect them to be exactly on par with the likes of the very best that Germany has to offer. But the style/uniqueness, performance and price - all together - make it a very attractive proposition...

Okay but what kind of mountain bike do you ride? Full suspension or hardtail? 26" 27.5" or 29"? (I guess they go by centimeters there) Do any downhill at ski resorts?

Hi Dave, We do use inches here on MTB. I ride 27.5 c/f f/s Giant Anthem but still have a 26 h/t and f/s from the post. We don't really have Ski resorts here so a bit of a moot point. Is that a C4 C5 in your profile? I live in Sherwood Forest and ride XC mainly with occaisional visits to the hills for something with a bit more gravity.

Yeah I guess England is a little short on ski resorts but I'd love to get over to Tignes in France for some downhill. And yeah I've still got my C5 1998 Corvette, at least until I pull the trigger on a Stinger.

I used to have an early C4 with the 350 - it was a great experience for 12 months. France definitely good for D/H as is any side of the Alps - Slovenia, Italy, etc. Slovenia had some great biking around Lake Bled - which is a little known but amazing beauty spot. https://www.slovenia.info/en/places-to-go/attractions/bled
