Hello,

Thought I'd introduce myself. I'm actually pretty leery of forums but I thought I'd give this one a try.

I have a Stinger GT2 in Micro Blue. Ordered it November 21st and after a bit of a debacle finally received it on January 5th. So far it has around 1000 miles on it and I'm digging it.

I traded a 2013 Optima SXL and sold a C5 Corvette for my Stinger and don't regret it at all.

I'm an ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician and was a tech in my former life. I have been teaching automotive technology at a local community college for the last 13 years. I previously worked in independent shops, a VW/Audi dealership (will never buy a German car again) and was doing professional (award winning!) restoration on pre-1980 British stuff for a number of years before teaching.

In my British sports car life, I had a 1962 Triumph TR4 and 1972 GT6, both restored to a very high level. I have since sold both of them as it was time to move on.

I have some track time in cars and sport bikes. Looking to possibly get my Stinger on the track at some point. We have a good road course (High Plains) nearby so we'll see. Growing up with British stuff taught me to drive fast and smooth but I know how hard tracks are on cars so we'll give that one some time to simmer.

Won't be doing any modifications. As a technician, I'm not into mods...do more harm than good. The car is engineered as a complete system, I intend to keep it that way. Only thing I'm waiting for is a invisible hitch mount so I can put my mountain bike on the back (I ride 3000+ miles a year). The good news is that for now, it fits inside the car easily.

I could write lots more but that's enough for now. Hopefully this is a good place to be, I look forward to seeing who's out there.

I've only been here a week or so waiting on my GT1 AWD. Seems to be a congenial crowd and lots of good advice and information shared.

I was a GM-Subaru-BMW service manager and Certified GM Master Technician back in the day. Retired now but still a car guy. Welcome. Hope to see some of your experience show up from time to time.

Halaula! I could not agree more. 25+ years in the auto repair business. (One of my 2 careers).

Welcome aboard, @EchoesMyron! Thank you for signing up. When did you get your Stinger? Oh and what has made you leery of forums in the past? I hope this one, no - I'm sure this one will change your outlook. :)

My car was delivered to me January 5th. There was a big issue with Kia being able to get me the blue GT2 in Colorado for some reason; I get the sense that their allocation system isn't very effective at getting cars to the customers who want them.

I'm leery of forums due to the fact that they often seem to bring out the worst side of human nature. That, plus I'm not really that social.

As a professional automotive technician, I don't typically like automotive forums because the amount of misinformation they tend to perpetuate makes me want to curl up in the fetal position and cry.

So far I am liking this forum.

I think you will like it here. There are several of us who have automotive backgrounds - service managers, etc. - and the information is good and kept accurate. Looking forward to your professional input.

Good to have you here , its always great to have technical people to help sort out the details ! Its a good forum lots of solid members !

Thanks guys. So far, so good. I am liking the folks I've had interaction with so far and appreciate the thoughtfulness and intelligence I'm seeing.

Welcome!! Do you have the RWD or AWD and how does it handle in the snow out there?

AWD with the all season tires. Had 6" of snow this morning and it handles it great. feels grippy and goes where you point it under acceleration and braking.
