I snagged a gently used 2018 GT2 a couple months ago. Hopped over here to learn what others have experienced with their cars.

Just wanted to say hello and thank you to everyone that contributes.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your Stinger! What did the Stinger replace for you?

B8.5 Audi S4 6MT.

Hi, and welcome. So, similar performance as your Audi? But the Stinger is nicer looking and longer, more practical. Anything else that made you want to switch to a Kia? :D

Haha, I agree that I'm not actually compromising with the Stinger, but the primary reason I was in the market was because of an accident. Apparently my "save the manuals" window stickers brought no such protection for my own car :(.

Welcome to the hive. Pics.

Thank you. I'll get some pics after the rebadge. Even with regular washing it's hard to keep a black car shiny during MN winters.

Welcome! The S4 was on my radar for a long time, I've driven mostly Audi's and BMW's in the past (Still have a 330). Really curious to know your thoughts on how they compare.

Still getting used to the Stinger, and when I upgrade the sway bars and get better wheels/tires than the 18" OE Bridgestone during some summer months, I'll know more in terms of performance.

In terms of features, it's mostly little things that the Audi nailed: keyless entry was nearly instantaneous and worked on all doors (unless I'm missing something, Stinger only has function for front doors), muting radio automatically paused track, cabin noise was nonexistent at any speed, high speed stability was better, and I have to believe drag coefficient was lower, but the MMI system was slow on cold starts.

Where the Stinger shines is the upgraded tech, LED headlights are nice, Adaptive beams a plus, and the hatchback is a win.

There's something off with the way the Stinger maintains cruise control, though, kinda like a subtle rubber band effect from intermittent acceleration-coasting, but I haven't had a chance to try on different road surfaces.

I didn't have the Adaptive dampers in the Audi, and always had everything else in sport. Losing the manual transmission hurts, but I like the Stinger's sport settings just fine. Going from a supercharged V6 to the TT V6 is a significant difference: even with more low-end torque and horsepower, the Stinger doesn't feel faster and certainly can't match responsiveness. Granted, it's also about 400 lbs heavier.

All said and done, I think the Stinger is a fine Grand Tourer while the S4 was a bit sharper, leaning more to the sport sedan side.

Can I say I'm disappointed in the Stinger? Absolutely not. But it's less an extension of my mind and body than the 6MT+supercharged Audi while making for a more comfortable highway cruiser.

Excellent comparison! Agreed on the little things. It's funny that they can nail things like the proximity sensor to fold out the mirrors and open the trunk but miss ability to unlock from rear passenger doors.

I noticed the cruise control issue as well, we were on a highway with subtle changes in elevation and could feel that rubber-band effect. I suspect that the turbo's are building so much torque low down that it's overshooting the threshold speed.

All things considered this is a fantastic car.
