Hello...new to this forum.
Currently looking at a low mile 23 GT2 AWD.
I was wondering what the must have differences were with the gt2 over the gt1 because (obviously) I can save quite a few $ shopping a gt1.
Also...is there any worry amongst you all about parts getting prematurely discontinued because they don't produce the car anymore?

Hi there! Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us. What might the Stinger be replacing for you?

I'm moving this topic out of the community lounge as it's more of a Stinger specific topic than off-topic or introductory.

I believe the Genesis G70 shares a lot of mechanical parts. So keeping her running shouldn't be too big of an issue.

GT2 (18-21 or 22-23) personal preference for tail lights, wheels, interior changes to trim, screens and seats > 18-21 GT1 > 22 GT1. The 22 GT1 lost a bunch of features that are deal breakers for me personally, ventilated seats and adaptive suspension being top of that list. Also doesn’t have the HK speakers. There was no GT1 trim in 2023.

Don’t make my mistake and just get the fully loaded GT2 if you plan on paying it off and keeping it awhile. Coming up on 6 years with mine soon..

There should be a chart on Kia's site (somewhere) that lists the features and which trims get those features. We can't tell you what's important to you. Do they even sell the 2023 in anything but the GTLine and GT2?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
If you like bells, whistles and such...go 2023 GT2. If you're not worried about all that and just want the relative look and a few of the functions... go GT1. As said, it really depends upon the things that make you happy. Some folks get the GT1 and want to replace some of the stuff that the GT2 has. Which, is why I did the GT2 to begin with. I didn't want the "wish I would'as." So there you go.

As already said, up to '21 the GT1 had a lot of good features that disappeared the last year they made a so-called GT1. The HK surround sound is a must have for me. Obviously the powertrain is identical either way, another must have if I am buying a Stinger right now. I like the sunroof but that isn't a dealbreaker, although it was a feature I insisted on at first. Your stuck with a sunroof either way. You have to find a GT to get a solid roof, then you give up even more features. One thing the GT1 has that the GT2 does not, is the traditional shifter with manual gate. This is a fun feature, because you can stay in gear instead of reverting to "D" even coming to a stop, in all drive modes, and either use the paddle shifters or bump and pull the "T" shifter to up or down shift. Obviously no HUD or power-lift hatch. The particular GT1 you look at might or might not have other shared features with the GT2 like driver assist nannies, heated steering wheel, etc.

As the Stinger is discontinued and you have a 2023 model at hand I would be jumping at that. If the GT2 is the full featured car buy it. It has all the features available.
If you just want performance then both are the twin turbo 3.3L V6. You will see no difference.
But if you want all the little extras like the 15 speaker Harmon Kardon sound system with subs under the seats, Nappa leather (real cow died for your car), enhanced safety features, departure warnings and all that shit then go for top of the range.
