I thought that I had introduced myself several weeks ago. Yes, I am a new owner of a Stinger GT2, purchased from Van Syckle Kia in Bangor, Maine. I traded up, I guess, from a Ford Focus ST, though if the ST had AWD, I probably would not have bothered (the RS is too "boy-racer" for me). I've had the Stinger for two weeks as of today and I am very pleased to date. Despite Kia's high ranking for reliability, new models can often have "teething" pains. The various online forums suggest that new owners are not reporting any major problems and I have my fingers crossed that will be the case with mine. So far my only mild carp is gas mileage, but I was aware of that before I purchased the vehicle. The car is quite attractive, solidly put-together, very comfortable, handles very well and, as I've already discovered - quite accidentally, actually - is quite fast. I am still figuring out certain of its systems. Unfortunately, I won't really know how effective its all-wheel drive system is for several months. Yes, I will be outfitting it with real winter tires - probably Nokians. I would like to hear if any other new owners have encountered any difficulties, but I am loving the car so far.

Thanks for reading.

welcome to the hive, congrats on your new stinger. bro, ive owned my stinger for 6 months and i still am finding new things. oh, and i like the accidentally found out it is quite fast. i will have to remember that next time the mrs catches me driving fast. ooooh, im sorry sweetie, i was going how fast? wow, who would have thought the speedo goes that high.

Welcome to the forums!

Every car has their things here and there. What color paint do you have? There also seems to be some issues with certain paint colors :(

Welcome aboard...Congratulations!!!...Yes, it does take some time to figure out all the stuff this car has, because tech overload, but I love it. Fortunately forums like this exists to make finding those features a lot easier.

"Accidentally discovered how fast it is", heheh! You must not have read up on this car beforehand, much. :D

Sorry, but in my intro, I had forgotten to mention that I had cross-shopped the Audi A5 Sportback, the Buick RegalGS, and the VW Golf R. My previous vehicle had been a Ford Focus ST and had I been able to take that vehicle back to Ford and had a good AWD system installed, I'd still be driving it given that it was only 6 years young and was a lot of fun. Still, I am enjoying the Stinger more and more each time that I drive it. In response to Merlin the Mad, yes, I knew the Stinger was fast, but I passed a couple of vehicles on a two lane road on which I had been going about 60; I thought that I had accelerated to about 80 in order to get by them quickly, but when I looked at the speedometer, I found that I was doing 100. It sure didn't feel like it.

@StraightNoChaser: LOL! My experiences exactly. Looked down and found 100+ and was very happy that the car wasn't even "breaking sweat", but felt like it was ready for more speed. It's that stable and smooth and powerful, that it doesn't feel like you are speeding. That is a danger, of course, because traffic violations await the unwary. :D

Welcome aboard SNC! Yup, I too was passing on the freeway and noticed as I was slowing down that I was still well over 80. It moves. We’re still waiting for some pix or color. We know GT2 AWD. So that HUD will help watch your speed a bit. I’m still not used to looking over my hood for the speed.
