Hey everyone,

First Happy Merry to all!

Okay, so the first frosty morning was a few weeks ago and I started my car and put on the front defrost mode. It worked well, so I turned it off 10 minutes later. It kept blowing hard on the windshield. Now it only blows hard on the windshield - I can move heat to the front vents but not to the footwells.

I know some of you are thinking about that humidity mode - me too - but I turned it off. There’s a little hot air that comes out on the passenger side footwell but it’s mostly coming out of the windshield vents.

I went to the dealer who says that is working normally. I am very in tune with this car for 3 years, I don’t remember it ever doing this. I’m guessing it’s an actuator or maybe the blower door is not working correctly. Any ideas? When the dealer shuts you down it makes you feel like you’re crazy but I know the heat used to blow hard out the lower vents.

Thanks in advance!

Is your MO to manually select where the air goes, etc.? Because I always use "Auto" and just let the climate control take charge. It's always worked for me: never had a fogged-up window yet and my feet are never cold.

Nope, I leave it on auto all the time.

What I mean to describe is that the heating function suddenly changed. When switching automatically or manually to the lower vents, the air flow is 90% directed to the windshield even with the front defogger and ADR (?) disabled. It has worked fine until the other morning. I thought somebody would have encountered this problem.

I think the Stinger has at least 2 diverter doors with actuators on the climate system. I think something is stuck or broken. I plan to DIY the issue since the dealer kind of gaslighted me.

If someone knows something please post. I will report back with progress just in case it helps someone else.

Cheers

check the "smart ventilation" settings... It will steal some control away from the user input settings
