Never had leather seats before this car.

What do you do when you're heading back to the car after swimming at the beach? In regards to any potential damage to the leather.

Are towels enough, or something else needed? If the dampness of the passengers gets to the leather through the towel, will it affect the leather?

Do you clean the seats after getting home?

I like my leather, want to keep it as it is, but sadly I can't just say 'get your own way there' to family.

Change into some clean dry clothes before getting in the car

They would call dad a son of a beach, for sure.

I would put down plastic seat protectors, you know, the temporary kind like mechanics/techs are supposed to use when they get in your car for service. That ends the need for any answers to your questions about compromised leather.

Having been a care-giver for 15 years or so, I learned one of your best friends is a package of disposable pads. Walmart for $15. Come in lots of sizes and are cheap - compared to leather seats and eliminate clean up.

If you’re from NQ, you should know better than to swim in the salty stuff. Unless you’re taking the kids to the Rockpool at the Strand.

Townsville?

From my experience - constant saltwater exposure (surf fishing NC) on leather seats (2nd Gen Durango) just clean and treat when you get back ;)

Your sweaty butt is salt every summer day... ;)

Was going to be at Bowen last weekend, but trip got cancelled. Was gonna be my first real road trip too. Horseshoe Bay is a safe enough place to swim, no salties.

i can answer this. I just took my stinger to the beach twice. I just put a towel down and it was fin. Maybe slight dampness on the seat but not enough to cause any kind of damage or problem

I like long walks on the beach with my leather.

I got "Protektiv" brand surface treatment done on it prior to picking my car up, which (so Kia tells me) protects the paint outside, and leather inside. I think it also was done on the other surfaces inside the car too. I'm just paranoid I suppose.
