Hi, after a few years or lurking, I finally bought a new 2019 white GT2 AWD. I was enjoying my first commute today but noticed that the head unit constantly switched between night mode (dark maps) and a day mode (normal maps) when ever I drove in a shaded area, then back in sunlight, etc. Probably switched back and forth 30 times on a 30min commute.

Anyway I can make it stick one way or the other? Thanks.

I think the display settings allow you to keep nightmode or disable the light sensing auto audjust.

I would like to know if there's a way to disable the blinding white climate control bar that comes up when you adjust settings.

Yes there is definitely a setting in Settings - Display where you can select to either keep it on constant Day mode, constant Night mode or on Auto.

As for the climate control bar - I fear this one is not optional. I haven't found anything to disable it, although I find it rather useful too because I would want to know the temperature I'm setting it to and things alike.

Hi and welcome.

That description sounds way too sensitive. My day mode only turns temporarily to night maps when I go into a freeway underpass (we're talking broad daylight, not dawn or dusk) going slowly enough to be in there long enough to trigger the sensor.

I've never adjusted this or looked for a way to opt in or out. Time to go look at my car's options and settings tools again! :)
