I'd say my 2.0 is quiet for a family sedan, but not comparable to say, a Lexus or Mercedes. Closer to the A3 sedan. But a lot of it appears to be due to the Factory Bridgestones the car arrives with. Most tire sites rate these pretty poorly for road noise.
Once we can swing it, we'll be replacing them with Michelin PSAS3+'s....tires can make a HUGE difference in cabin noise level. The question then becomes "what kind of performance am I willing to give up for a more quiet cabin?"
I don't doubt there are options available to dramatically reduce road noise, but I am willing to trade some quietude for more lateral G's
