Hatchback lid impact bumper removal

Can anyone show me the correct way to remove the two impact bumpers from the hatchback lid. They are the adjustable ones at the back corners that screw in or out to adjust how far the lid closes to make a tight fit. I have tried to remove them but am afraid to apply too much pressure and end up breaking them. Thanks for any good advice.

I was planning to come over and take them off your car, but wanted to make sure not to break them

Seriously, I wanted access to the inside of the hatchback lid to spray rust proofing within.

take the trim off the hatchback instead, it takes all of 5 minutes to do with a trim removal tool and a Philips head screwdriver. plenty of access to the inside once it comes off.
