Has the paint issue been fixed? Does anyone know if kia has changed the paint on the newer stingers or if they're planning on changing it in the future? If so do you when they made/will make this change?

This will probably get shut down, as we already have a "venerable" paint issues poll and thread. But I'll bite anyway.

No, there has been no observable change in the way the Stinger is painted. I think that the process has been buttoned down through experience. There isn't anything wrong with how the MY18 Stinger's paint is behaving. A few vehicles have issues. The great majority do not. And MY19s should be that much better because of any corrections applied, or better scrutiny.

just bought a 2019 GT ltd two weeks ago ... Signed up for the forum and started to read some thread and came across another one (similar to this) this is scary af ... $50K and the paint is so thin that any little thing will chip it or peel it off...

im hoping the paint on the 2019 is different then the paint on the 2018.

I bought a 2019 ceramic silver and had two bad chips in the front fender within two days of driving before my appointment for full front clear vinyl. They were able to repair the chips very well; unfortunately this is still an issue with KIA and the Stinger. Road chips are always an issue here in SC but I think it's worse with this car. It's worth $1000-$1500 to get a full front vinyl wrap I highly highly recommend it.

i would for sure get the whole front wrapped but ive seen paint chips on the doors as well. I cant believe that kia built such an awesome car then flopped on the paint.
