You use a trim tool to push between the leather and base Facing the rear. It wil pup up, then you pull towards the front. You then have to replace a bottom section. First removing the “button”... a bit tricky. Flat screw driver in a few pressure plate holes. Then a few screws.

Not too bad.

Do you have pictures of the next steps of this, by any chance? The top part is super easy, but the button is really tricky. I can't find any schematics, so it's tough to tell where to press without damaging the actuator.

I assume the tabs actually connect to the button, and you have to lift the tabs up out of the actuator...?

No schematics.

You basically wedge a small flat blade screwdriver into the openings on the buttton actuator box (sides) to release the button. Then the other side to release the box itself if I recall.

I’m not that smart and did it without breaking anything. You got it.

Any chance of a photo? Somehow I’m not getting the button to pop out. I’ve used a small flat tip screwdriver but no luck.

No photo. But on the inside black housing, there are a few rectangular squares. Fiddle tour screwdriver in those. Eventually they’ll release the button. It was 10 months ago so I barely recall. It wasn’t hard. Use your phone to take pics in there to see better.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Do you like the alcantera material? I'm debating on doing the console/steering wheel/and shift knob swap. I've seen it on other cars in videos and it looks nice just don't know on how it is as far as daily use.

The steering wheel is awesome. Comfy all the time. Doesn’t get hot in summer, not cold in winter. The heater function works awesome in winter too. Best mod to date.

The armrest for me looks good but I don’t use it as I cover it since my dog is in the car and steps all over it. The shift knob is decent. Not as important to me as the steering wheel.

I’ll probably end up doing it in that order then, the steering wheel for me on other cars is what catches my attention. Just gives it a nice look in my opinion. Thanks for the feedback.

The steering wheel is you'd primary interface with the car, so that upgrade sounds really worthwhile. Doing the shifter for aesthetic continuity in the cockpit makes sense too.

I have upgraded steering wheels on previous cars to get the "D" shape, but was always wary of alcantara in terms of wear and requiring cleaning, but I learned recently that it can be cleaned with specific cleaning fluid if you're careful. Have you had any issues with it in that sense?

Totally get your point on the centre console - there's also be the chance of accidental damage with your dog should the cover slip too.
