my gt2 seems a bit picky going from reverse to drive with the electronic shifter

i'll be rolling slowly in reverse and pull the shifter to drive and the display will show D and im about the press the accelerator and it will display N (neutral) ... then i'll pull pack to D and it requires me to have a firm brake pedal press and hold back to D to get the transmission to go to drive. Sometimes takes several times

anyone else having these issues with gt2?

If you are still rolling backwards when going from R to D, that's likely the problem. Car must be stopped to change directions with your foot on the brake.

I haven’t had any issues either, but I don’t believe you can change gears without applying the brake first. Rolling backwards when the transmission is trying to engage drive may put excess strain on internal parts. This is just a built in safety feature so you can’t accidentally bump the shifter into reverse while driving or visa versa. It’s simply to protect the transmission from damage.

Always apply the brake before moving the shifter and I believe you will no longer have this problem.

I experienced this when I was trying to do a 3 point turn.

Just make sure you’re not still rolling backwards when trying to shift to drive so you don’t hurt the transmission. If you come to a quick stop first then you won’t have this problem.

For sure, I was rushing it. Something to be aware of, especially if you're trying to execute a U turn in a hurry!

Make sure you're not pulling it back and snapping it, so that it may slingshot back into N with the force you're putting on it. Just give it a good pull then let it back into position. Don't push it once you put it in D, it'll fall back into the place it's supposed to be at.

Also, for anyone that hasn't realized, you don't need to push the side button to go change directions, it's just a Park release.

This is probably what is happening - popping back into N

only has happened when I'm in a hurry

I happy I did not have the electronic shift because I was afraid things like this was going to happen. Not a big deal, but just annoy when making 3 point turn or quick reverse and go. Although the electronic shift look a lot better, but it serve the same purpose like the normal shift from a base GT. This is base on my opinion, then again I am the type of guy who don't care much about technology because they can be your best friend or worse enemy:whistle:.
