I bought a GT1 AWD a month or so ago and noticed that I had 18" wheels on it. The wheels have the same design as the ones I see on the GT2 but those are 19" wheels. Every GT1 I seem to be able to find locally has 19" wheels. Did my dealership swap wheels on me or was that an option that mine just didn't get?

In a way it is an option only for AWD models, but they decide which ones get it from the factory because they limit the top speed to around 130. I made sure the Stinger gt awd I bought had the 19s. Sorry you had to found out about this after purchase. I would just buy some aftermarket wheels and call it a day.
Most of the 18"-equipped models were sold in the Northern states. Yours might have been involved in a dealer swap. In any case, what does your window sticker say? That would tell you what it came equipped with from the factory, and whether you have the 130mph limited ECU.
Thanks for all the info. I dug out my window sticker and yep those are the wheels listed on it. I didn't even notice that when I bought the car since everyone I looked at had the 19" wheels already I thought, and since the wheels look the same to me I never noticed. It seems weird that different size wheels have the same design. My experience in past cars has been if a car can come with different size wheels, they all look different so they can be noticed at a quick glance by someone.

I sure didn't know about the AWD 18" 130 MPH limiter either. When I shopped for my car, I didn't even have a GT trim in mind, yet, because I didn't know which trim would satisfy my three "must haves": 3.3L, Harman Kardon 15 speaker surround sound, and sunroof. Ended up being the GT1. Then my wife said, "Silky Silver, must have". And the dealer searched around quickly and found one and traded one of their cars for it; all done in half a day. So, my getting AWD and 19" wheels was a total fluke, because the subject never came up. Lucky me.
I've had this car over 130 MPH on a number of occasions. And if I had experienced "no faster" at 130 MPH the first time, I would have been absolutely pissed. Of course, had that been the case, then, by now, I'd have found a way to either raise the limiter to 167 MPH, or cut it out altogether. I would not have been able to rest until that was accomplished.
YMMV, and I am not suggesting that YOU need to be upset about having the version that came with A/S tires rated at 168 MPH, and therefore with the 130 MPH speed limiter. When or if it does bother you, then, time to look around for somebody to hack the limiter and raise it.
Here's the weird thing with mine. I have the GT1 AWD and it came with the 18's and all-seasons. I didn't know about the 130mph limit for Stinger GT's on 18's until after I bought it. I was irked about that, and have thought of having it tuned to remove the limitation at some point. But one night, I took mine up to a little over 140mph. The VIN and window sticker says I'm speed limited, so, makes me wonder if my VIN is wrong, or my speedo's accuracy is way off (by 10+mph?!).
Edit: so I looked at the digital window sticker (I can't find the paper one for whatever reason). Anyways, I noticed in the Standard Features column, it says "19 Wheels with Summer Tires", but the next column over (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) also shows "18 All Season Tires". Hmmmm...

If you easily reached 140 MPH, I think it's safe to say that the listed 19" wheels is accurate as OEM equipment; and the car got replacement 18" wheels and A/S tires for some (now lost) reason.
