• PLEASE! It is VERY important that this area is not used for the discussion of technical issues with your Stinger. This section is for posting about regional-specific things like Stinger clubs, events, local vendor or dealer recommendations, KiaStinger.com member sightings, etcetera... In other words, I do NOT want people to need to scour through several different sections to find answers about their heads up display. That's why there's a section dedicated specifically to discussions like that. THANK YOU!

Just wondering if anyone has replaced the globe of either one of the headlights yet ? the reason I ask as I am wondering how much does it cost for a replacement globe.
A few months ago when my Optima went in for it's 21,000 kms service it needed the front head light globe replacing on the left side.I had forwarned the Kia service centre before I took it in.When I picked my car up I was surprised when they told me they didn't have the globe in stock ,they would order it and I would have to come back.
The following week received phone message to go back. When I went back the girl asked " do you realise the cost of this replacement globe ?" I must have looked puzzled because I thought it was just a standard globe. I was shocked when she advised it would cost over $400 for the globe and fitment.A guy came up to tell me the globes in my Platinum Optima are the same globes and lights they put in Mercedes vehicles. I could have fainted, I purchased a Kia not a damn Merc.
Anyway, they saw the shocked look on my face and contacted Kia, Kia out of "good will" refunded me 20% back, my car was out of warranty and I really appreciated it.
So hoping Stinger globes are cheaper to replace.

$400 (in any currency) seems like a price to replace a whole headlight assembly instead of just the globe (called bulb in the US). I assume your headlights use HID globes which should not be that expensive nowadays. I have no idea which type of headlights that your Optima used.

The whole headlight assembly to replace is $5,000 AUD$ down here.

That's about right for OEM HID bulbs and drivers. LED should not be as expensive but I bet they are. I've been converting every vehicle I own to aftermarket (Amazon/eBay - sourced) HID for many years now, but my Stinger is the first that has come with modern lighting and I will say I am only planning to own it (and any other vehicle in the future) as long as the full warranty is in effect.

I would expect the Stinger "globe" to be the same or even more expensive, and suggest keeping/extending your warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.

"globe" @ light bulb???....I thought the term refers to the headlight transparent assembly....go figure !!
You learn something new every day....

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
