An honorable death.

If the Vette was stock than yes it should have been much closer. Stock 6speed C6s run high 12s and stock GTs run close to the same.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I had a 07 C6 and I can say that it was a mid 12 car all day. No way that vette was stock.

well here soon, the performance bargain to beat is going to be the 2020 Corvette. Car is nuts. Not as practical or live-able day to day as the Stinger though, so I wouldn't buy one.

If you want a bargain, that C6 could be had for dirt cheap and modified to be way faster than the C8 at less than half the price. Just saying :)

Lol 10th’s equals car lengths so looking at the video the Stinger got spanked.

Lol Tenths are just a couple of car lengths so anyone looking at the video can see it's not a "spanking."

I drag raced for several decades, if you have any questions just ask. I'm here to help!

Few things I noticed:
- The video looks to be a 1/8 mile race, as the race starts at 0:39 seconds and cross the cones at 0:48 or so.
- If you do frame by frame the gap is only about 1.5 car lengths at the cross of the finish. Then it looks like the Kia starts slowing down first while the Corvette continues to accelerate, giving the impression its pulling hard on the Kia, but the race is already over.
- When traveling at 100-110 mph (147-161 fps), you cover the distance of about 15 ft (or a car length) every tenth of a second.

Great observations, I also realized it wasn't a quarter mile race.

So, using your calculations a 12.5 sec Vette would have a ~4 car length lead over a 12.9 sec Stinger GT at the end of a quarter.

A definite win, but hardly a "spanking" in my book.
