Just gonna say this,

I had an black audi A6 i ceramic coated months before trading it for the kia stinger. Its easier to clean but more work in other areas.

Coated cars gotta be hand washed with mittens, no pressure washing alone won't do the deed. Coated cars need a bit of extra maintenance to keep the hydrophobic aspects.

Then after the wash its much harder to wipe the car dry, but here's the thing a good leaf blower no need to even wipe straight blow dry it. Tho on my mirror like a6 after washing and drying I had to go back with a polish towel to remove all the finger print like smudges from the drying towels or when i washed the car with the mitten.

The windshield beading was a blessing in bad weather. Made it much easier to see through the water drops.

All in all I think I'm not gonna get this car coated solely bc its expensive, and I never wanna experience the struggles of a black car. Though this white stinger in itself gets dirty just as fast sigh lol. Atleast I don't need to worry about smudges or water spots as much.

I like the detail on the kia man, looks sharp

Best part about having a coated car is that I can use a leaf blower to get the majority of the water off after washing. That way, there is less chance of causing swirls while drying. The hood never gets touched with a towel, since its the largest and most visible panel when it comes to swirls. The rest of the car gets blown off and then the remaining droplets get gebntly wiped off

that looks awesome! silly question (still a newby here) - I'm assuming none of the stingers have a ceramic coat from the manu? including the "ceramic" silver?

Nope. Just the name of the paint. No actual ceramic coating though

thanks that's what i figured. I just purchased a GT1 in ceramic silver, picking it up this Friday. Debating on whether or not I put a ceramic coat on it. just starting to research what it's all about.

Ceramic coatings are extremely hydrophobic and protect your paint very well. They're expensive and different products last different amounts of time. The one I got should last around 10-15 years.

I've never heard of a coating lasting 10-15 years. What brand is on your car?

@Brandonfontes
The product itself is NOT expensive and is readily available. The expense is in surface preparation and application (labour). Most applications will last 3-5 years if correctly maintained but may require a periodic top-up. I have not heard of a product that could last up to 15 years.

Looks nice. Welcome!
IMO, at $1200 - $2500 for varied levels of both paint correction and ceramic coating, I'm keeping my new 2020 clean and protected with the somewhat effective "hybrid" or alleged ceramic nano-particle spray on products. It's not my DD and I figure I will wait a bit for "something to correct" on the paint before committing to one of the service levels. I would prefer a professional approach rather than just applying the coating myself.

Not OC, but my Audi I did the G. Crystal serum ultra. 9 year guarantee. Costed me basically 2k.

The price varies depending on the work you want.

My 2k Included 4 step detail (swirls, water spots, paint chips, scratches), buff/clay to a mirror finnish. Then ceramic car, windows, and rims.

I miss that car but man was it a money pit
