Someone hit me in a parking lot. Not worth the deductible. Anyone know any way to fix this and get it close to new? If not I'd have to get a rear bumper? If someone can provide me a store to get that, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Dang Rich that’s not a minor hit not to mention a stomach turner! I would suggest you take it to a body shop to get a quote as sometimes these may be more money to fix than you might expect.

How high is your deductible? That could easily be a couple grand for a new bumper cover including installation.

Well my deductible is only a thousand. But also paying for a wedding at this current time. I'd really like to see if I sand it down and put a touch up paint to it? Idk kinda just don't wanna spend the money. Call me cheap, but I think it'll come down to me spending the money on it.

Completely understunderstand. You may not get it perfect yourself, but you can probably make it good enough that only you will notice it.

Holes in the bumper will require a replacement from the body shop, and will probably be pricey if the damage extends into the reinforcement. Do you have uninsured motorist coverage on your policy? That should cover a hit and run and typically has a lower deductible than collision coverage (usually around $250).

Wow that is literally something I just took off my coverage about 2 months ago. Dang!

My rear bumper was tapped and had similar damage. The body shop was able to repair everything rather than replace (thankfully, since replacement parts are still scarce). It took about a day and a half and came to ~1200; I filed it on my uninsured motorist though, since the rat-bastard fled the scene.

It's an easy repair but you'll want the pros to handle it so that your ride is like new again. Good luck...

Definitely get it fixed. A slap together job won't do it. Since getting this car, I have turned into the most defensive of "parkers"; as already mentioned, I park away, even to the extreme ends of the lot, and always in an end parking spot, so that if someone does park next to me it will only be on one side. Right now, my Stinger is parked outside the Red Lion Inn in Kent, Washington. And in an end stall, but there is parking behind my car, and that makes me nervous. The one thing about traveling I don't like and won't get comfortable with is staying at hotels, now made even more so by having to park the Stinger in those narrow parking lots.

Kent isn't so bad compared to Renton just north of you, and overall western WA is pretty safe. Every place has it's seedier side though--some places just make it harder to find What brings ya to this neck of the woods?

Well just took it to Kia and they said they don't do body work. So I'm going to a auto body shop on Monday. Will keep you guys updated

I’ve been whacked there in other cars, ultimately a new bumper will be needed as it’s difficult to fill plastic. If I had to guess, $1200 fixed . And one other thing, get a crash cam with a rear camera that records when parked or when hit so you can catch these aholes and send them the bill. Hope it works out good, thinking of your pain and suffering at this time...

Thanks brother. Yeah I mean I have the funds to fix it if it is 1200. I was honestly seeing if it is possible to put the GT bumper on the Premium model. Idk if you fine young gentlemen would know the answer to that
