Well in my town the dealers are all on one street owned by 2 guys across all the dealerships. My kia dealer is and has been busy during the times i can get an oil change done. Not gonna drop off because i live 40 minutes away.
Got sent to Honda for a change and im like cool whatever its warranty lol but anyway.
The honda techs notice something and let me know and see that there is oil residue (enough to suggest a leak) on the lower front case of the engine.
Possible seal leak and to much to be linked to my open air bov.
The honda guys took a closer look possibly because they were curious and it led to a good callout. Got an appointment for kia to inspect on dec 5th. Ill let you know how it goes.

Not stressed but she is my baby afterall.

Kia sent you to Honda? Well, I never. What a world. Sounds like it is working out.

No sir it is on the front under the crank above the pan and i should have took pictures when i had the chance

Bump.
Kia was good this visit
Dec 5th car was dropped off for the day at my local dealer
Evidence of a possible oil leak the reason for my visit
They put a tracer fuild in and maybe 10 miles on it
Found a seal not fully seated on the bottom and fixed it (a quote slow drip) so im glad thats fixed

Now i put another 1000 miles and it goes back for uv treatment to make sure its sealed tight.

My Kia dealer operates the office and service management part time. On days when they are off, you have to go to the Mazda dealer for write-up, then they take your car over to Kia for the work and bring it back to Mazda for you when it's done. On alternate days the Kia service center administrates the Mazda service operation. Mazda owners get written up and go wait in the Kia waiting room while their car goes over to Mazda for the work and is returned. It seems like an odd way to cut the overhead in 1/2 but seems to work well for them?
