Well negotiations still ongoing on purchasing/financing '19 Stinger GT RWD 3.3T but can't proceed till i get surrender cash out on insurance policy (which wont happen before OCT 4). Salesman called to say he had winter wheel/tires from a 2018 GT2 AWD to sweeten the pot. Asking $1000 for 235/4518 Michelin X-Ice mounted on Andros wheels and "supposed" to have TPMS installed, used one season.
OTD for the car in 34,689, HiChroma Red. Going to dealer Saturday to check out the tires and more haggling, car buying is such a PITA. So, good deal on the tires?

BTW, here's the car the tires came off from on the dealer's used car lot, dunno price. Dealer info on window sticker. Someone put 23K miles on the car in one year?

Those look like crap.. I wouldn't want them on my car.. I guess if you get them covered in salt and grime so nobody can see them..

(I think they look like cheap WalMart plastic wheel covers)

I was not concerned about fashion flair, more interested the Michelin as a good winter tire (and price, those tires are $200+ on Tire Rack). I give less than two shits about what others judge on appearance. By your own admission, they will be covered in salt and grime for several months.
Internet forums , rolls eyes.

PS, welcome to the ignore list

Hard to tell for sure from the pictures, but if that outermost face is a clear coated machined surface, I'd avoid them as salt is going to go play havoc with them - especially one they get a couple chips in the clearcoat and salt/corrosion starts making its way in.

Get a 'winter rated' rim that has no machined surfaces on it, which are made to stand up to road treatments and resist corrosion/flaking. This is an example, though I don't know if this particular rim (Fast FC04) is marketed in the U.S. - plenty of other winter rated rim choices, though.

The XIce3 are an excellent winter tire, though, and I ran them last winter. They are really nice on snow and ice, ride well, and are actually quieter than the PS4 summer performance tires on bare road.

I like those wheels, big fan of the 2 tone Silver/Grey.

As to the tire question, I did ~8k miles last winter in a RWD Stinger on Michelin X-Ice Xi3 (Newest ones), they were pretty awesome. We got 40" of snow, so they had their work cut out for them. My commute is about 20 miles of highway driving, and I leave at 5am (before the plows come out), so there were some pretty bad days. Drove in one blizzard, but it was mostly slush/compacted snow.

That being said, they don't make you invincible. Don't drive stupid, it's very easy to overpower the tires with as powerful as this car is. Even on dry ground, the winter tires will struggle to put all the power down, and it'll be squirrely. Way worse when there's snow, but if you live in a place where it snows, you probably know what to do and what not to do.

Additionally, rotate the tires fairly often, like every 3k miles. The RWD version has only a minor rear camber, but it chews up rear tires even if you're not being crazy.

Also, I did get stuck once, but that's because we dropped 9" of snow overnight, and the car was bottoming out in my driveway. Gave it some gas so I had momentum to get through my steep gutter, and someone came around the corner right then. Slammed my brakes, and slid the drive wheels into the gutter. RIP.

Took a day off, and drove it out of there that afternoon after it had melted a bit. Lol.

Price wise, I paid ~1600 for my set brand new, so that's not a bad deal.

Yes, I've seen the Canadian owners mention that wheel more than notice and thanks for that. I realize those Andros wheels are not top tier. So we'll drive them this winter and try to keep them clean. We don't get too much snow around here normally and I'm retired so I don't have to travel if it's especially foul weather.
