Glove Box Question

Can someone tell me what the cotton pad is that’s on the back of the glove box between the glove box and the cabin air filter? I was changing the cabin air filter and noticed that it is visibly dirty. Can that part be replaced? If so, can somebody give me the part number? I can’t find it on any of the part diagrams I looked at.

I think its just for sound absorption for the climate control fan..not sure how your got dirty unless someone was putting their dirty feet up pretty high in the foot well....
I would just wipe it with a damp cloth...

I bought the car used and it has a weird smell but not specifically a Smokey smell. It almost smells like it was smoked in and then covered up with a lot of air freshener. Working on getting the smell out of the car. My fear is that dirtiness is from cigarette smoke lol.

I think you can rent a ozone machine to remove odors...that is what detailers and dealerships use.
My neighbor has a small used car dealership and he swears by them..he gets alot of farm equipment so its pretty bad.
