I noticed something odd about the way my gas pedal goes to WOT. About 3/4 of the way down there is a sticky spot, almost something mechanical that stops it. Just a tad more pressure and it moves the rest of the way down. Is that something all Stinger gas pedals do or is it just mine?

That's the kickdown switch. And it's at the full throw of the pedal, not "3/4 of the way down".

Thanks for the info, I'll have to research Kickdown Switch. Not sure about "Full Throw" either. I know the terminology is different for "Wire" pedals, I just have to educate myself.

Shift by wire, I know about. "Pedal by wire" is a new thing. :P I think that a pedal is just a pedal across all Stinger trims.

yeah I'm not sure what you'd be feeling at 3/4 throttle, but if you put the pedal all the way down, then push a little harder, it will click and go down a little more. maybe that's what you mean? As merlin said, that's a kickdown switch. It basically tells the car to downshift a few gears for harder acceleration. took me almost a year with the car to notice it

That's exactly what I'm talking about!!! There is a distinct stop just shy of WOT, then a slight bump harder and it goes to the floor.

You may be surprised to find it's documented in the owners manual.

A lot of things are, in fact.

Op: “how’s the pedal thingy work?”

John Madden: “you see, the point is to get the car moving as fast as possible on the roadway. Whatcha wanna do, is sit in the car. Turn it on. Put into ‘duh’ mode. Then push the right flappy thing on the ground.
Pushing the stick all da way. Go cars vroooom. Push it a little you see, vrom. Now only Bret Farve knows this, but if you push that thing really hard... you get the touchdown ya see. Then VA-F’N-ROOOOOOM.”

everyone else: “Jesus. F’n. Crist.”

Don’t you dare say that in the Facebook groups! Who reads a manual anyway? It’s just a $40k+ investment.

That's the way of the world. Why bother learning anything when I can just yell on Facebook and the world will scramble to provide an opinion.

I keep this handy for those kind of people, got a couple that are slightly more direct too ;)

Does anyone know if the gas pedal can be calibrated? Mine acts like it skips the first few % of the throttle position and then jolts the transmission after a few mm of travel. It drives me nuts, I can never go from coasting to back on throttle without a very noticeable jolt no matter what I do. In cruise it's nice and smooth so I believe my pedal is the issue.

I had a pedal commander that I removed because it was confusing my transmission and I had 2 really harsh shifts happen under wot. I'm wondering if that is what messed up my pedal in the first place.

hmmm. that's very strange. Maybe something you'd have to see a dealer for.

I did find this. If you scroll down to the bottom where it says "adjustment", it shows the electronic throttle control learning procedure. Maybe worth a try:

Thanks for posting this! I'll give it a shot and see what happens. Kinda sucks letting it idle for 15 minutes but I guess that's what you gotta do.
