Hello!

Just ordered my Stinger today. As the color I wanted was not available at the dealership (Ceramic Silver with black nappa leather interior), it ended up becoming a factory order and apparently I need to wait around 6 months for it to arrive. I can't wait!

I'm currently driving a 2019 Kia Ceed, which is a pretty decent car in its own right, but of course it's FWD and the power is nothing compared to the Stinger. I really like the UX in the Ceed (physical buttons for pretty much everything I regularly use!), and the Stinger seems quite similar in that regard, which was a huge factor in deciding to get the Stinger.

The original plan was to wait another year or two before switching cars, but as soon as I read the news about Kia stopping production of the Stinger next year, I got myself a test drive and eventually ended up making the order.

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your brand new Stinger! That’s going to be a nice upgrade over the Kia Ceed. It’ll be worth the wait. I’m glad you found us. :) Are we certain Stinger production is ending? I keep seeing mixed opinions on that.

Hi sunaurus,

I'm actually in a market for a 22 GT1 and I was thinking of factory ordering one too, and I was wondering if you can go into details about how the factory ordering process went. For example, can the dealership you order with still mark up the car and did you do any negotiating.

Thanks

If you order a car, you get the price on a piece of paper. Dealers usually like to do this, since it also shows your commitment to follow through, they usually want you to sign it. I have no problem signing for a price that I am ok with. If they try to add a dealer markup after the fact, tell them to go pound sand and report them to the better business bureau or something. The dealer can add a dealer markup to a car on the lot if they want, that's their prerogative. My dealer tried to add an ADM when the internet price said "selling price", they tried once to tell me that the "selling price" wasn't really the "selling price" and I said it very slowly "SELLING PRICE". I applied the rebates/incentives that were available at the time and was ok with that price, but dealers will try shady stuff. That dealer has since added 5 to 7K ADMs to their website "selling price", so I guess they really want people to pay those ADMs, but again, that's their decision, they can do that. They either sell the cars or not.

ugh that's so annoying

Not a bad idea to buy now while the buying is possible, Stinger likely isn't long for this world. Not hoping, just isn't looking promising they'll be keeping it around much longer.
