I’m thinking of getting Kia stinger and can’t decide between petrol and diesel.any advice.

Since you use the term "petrol" likely you're from Canada. US Stingers don't do diesel. And, don't know what the older 2.5L gas engine used but my 3.3L TT takes premium gas.

I'll state the obvious, NEVER use diesel in a gas engine and vice versa. Don

Last I checked, the Diesel variant is Europe only. Can't imagine they'd have the diesel in Canada.

From what I've read about the diesel variant, isn't exactly that great. It's been a while since I've been to Europe. I know back then diesel was the primary fuel. Not sure about now. There's a few folks on here from Europe although I'm not sure which variants they have.

Nobody from Canada says "Petrol"

Must be a "Euro" or "Aussie" thing

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
No diesel versions in Canada.

We have/had a member with a diesel powered Stinger, I think he is based in Ireland.

Diesel was canceled in Europe as well. Together with the 2.0 petrol. I think the reason was the new EU emissions regulation.
Only one available now is the 3.3 petrol.

But, I would absolutely NOT recommend a diesel Stinger. Why would you get one over the 2.0? Worse performance, less refinement, more expensive, higher insurance, higher emissions... should I go on?

I don't know about the price and the insurance. But the diesel has more torque and less consumption than the 2.0.
