Woke up this morning to the smell of fuel in the garage. Car was leaking fuel near the passenger rear tire. It's at the dealer now for service. I will update with what they say when I get more info. Super bummed!

This is the first time I heard this issue being reported. Hopefully the dealership gave you a nice loaner car in the meantime!
A hybrid Niro, lol. Driving it is like a game of how long I can keepit in electric mode.

Seriously though I have never had a car leak fuel in my entire life, wtf. No word from the dealership, not likely to get anything til Tuesday or so.

That's actually pretty awesome. At the dealership here, we usually have to work with Enterprise Rent A Car to get a smoke-filled Kia Soul. I'm sure they'll just end up replacing whatever part that's leaking and call it a day.

Hope you're not having any other issues. I had a failed fuel injector, and some have reported ECU issues (a known recall). For the most part though, the car seems relatively issue free, at least mechanically.

Got a call from the dealer, sounds like part of the fuel pump was leaking, so they are getting a new one. Hooray for warranty! Also I learned fuel pump is external, so neat.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Update: they put the pump on and lifted it again. Still leaking. Turns out theres a small crack in the fuel tank and they are back ordered. This is disappointing.

Chit happens. The typical fix is to throw parts at an issue. Too much time to remove and pressure test each component.

You have a loaner yes? A lot of dealers (ford) would tell me to KMA if I demanded a loaner (50k exploder sport). So just be happy you aren’t putting miles on your ride.

They’ll fix it. Just walk the car carefully with a camera (inside and out) when they have it back. Make sure they didn’t scuff/scratch/dent it as they typically are bulls in a china shop.

I’d also like to say that we all know this was a “KIA” going in. Meaning the same dealer/service that the average RIO driver gets.

We didn’t buy an Aston or Maserati.

And the dealer experience is what it is. It won’t get better.

I’m not fully convinced the experience is that much better with Genesis. Yes they may have concierge pick up/drop off for service... but it is a tick better than Kia. I’m sure the same BS / issues exist there.

Let’s just be happy we have a long set of warranties (not everything is 10 year PT on the car, but most of 5 if I recall)

Good context and insight, still a bummer though.

This 1000% with any service. I had an Infinity G35 that I took to the dealer to do a recall several years ago when I got home there was a huge black mark on the front bumper. No idea what happened and since I didn't notice till I got home I got the run around with them trying to get them to fix it. Now I thoroughly inspect everything after it's been to the dealer or anywhere before I leave.

Got the car back today. Fuel tank was leaking at a weld seam, had to order from overseas. Nice to have it back now!
