Front badge alignment

Ok, I bought the new style badge to go on the front of the car and they supply what looks to be an alignment template but I am struggling to find the reference point on the car. Any suggestions would be appreciated,

Just use some double-sided tape in small amounts and stand back. Once it's placed where and how you like it, mark where the corners are with a couple of micro pen dots, just barely big enough to see to line it back up. Or better than that marking method, lay some pieces of tape to outline the badge, then set it inside that set of markers.
