Ha, I can already see the dealer games beginning. Why would one put down a NONREFUNDABLE deposit of any amount, without seeing more of the car ? These guys see customer enthusiasm and already want to do their stunts. The whole Kia effort at introducing this car has an odor of incompetence about it and consists of a lot of buzz but no actual information which can help the customers. Geez, the cars are expected to be in the lots in December, as we keep hearing, but still no definitive information on prices and optioning. Not even US- spec cars as demos, but KDM cars which even the dealers are not allowed to drive, with Deep Chroma Blue paint jobs, which apparently wont be available in the US. Anybody wants to bet about whether these clowns wont be asking for enhanced prices?

Agree. I want a 2.0T completely loaded in GT Line package painted in chroma blue. Just like the one Southwest Kia in Rockwall Tx has (near me). It’s crazy to show a configuration that seemingly is not available in the United States.

It's very frustrating to wait and then be offered teasers that we can't have. We still don't know what we'll actually be able to buy. I doubt Kia ever introduced a model that could generate this kind of interest or passion so I won't criticize them too much for badly blowing the intro. I'm just trying to be patient and I can wait for several years. But I gotta admit after seeing one that it sure looks sweet.

This! I really wish they would get it together and let us know what would be available. My local dealer said they still don't even know when they're going to get any of the cars. I want a deep chroma blue, but it sounds like we're not going to get that option. So like was said earlier, why would they even show those as display models. It's kinda crappy if you ask me.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
What's really bothering me is we are still speculating the price of the Stinger. Yes we have an idea but what's the secret? I think Kia would do themselves some good by just putting it all on the table for the consumer. That way they'll know which way to go with incentives. Hypothetically, if they were to decide price a fully loaded GT2 at $60k, we'd all lose it. The Stinger enthusiast base would look for option 2 whatever make or model that would be. But they don't know that until they release an official us brochure, pricing, and release date.

they want a non refundable deposit but can't give you a final price. are they out of their minds? that's ridiculous. why does a dealership like this even get a stinger to sell in the first place? this is the kind of image kia wants to portray?

I think the highest a fully loaded Stinger will be in the US is 53k, and that's including AWD. It seems that's what number they've been giving all the journalists. Something final would be nice though.

Apparently "crazy" is the new "standard procedure" at Kia. All they had to do to avoid that scenario is NOT cut North America off from the same color options everyone else gets, but I guess that was asking too much.

Yeah, so Deep Chroma Blue was my #1 ever since I saw it in a youtube video from Korea. I showed my wife the Stinger in pictures and she kind of liked the look better than the Genesis (at the time I showed her the G80 Sport). No strong reaction though at that time. We went to local Hyundai dealer and saw the G80 sport in person. Then, since she kind of preferred the look of the Stinger, we stopped in a KIA dealership the other week and they just happened to have the Deep Chroma Blue. It was everything I thought it would be, but my wife actually flipped for it. She thought the Stinger looked even more impressive in person (especially in that color). She asked the sales people whether it would be available in that color and they said sure, but I don't think they really knew. I think they were just assuming. Anyway, now that my wife likes that color too, I don't expect to compromise on it. Maybe, I'll check out some of the other colors, but barring a shocking surprise, I'm probably not going to compromise on that one. I mean if your paying 50K for something, you can only compromise so much. I'd be willing to be OK with with getting a KIA and maybe even working around the suspect dealerships, but I would need to get everything I (and my wife) wanted in the car itself and that includes the color.

I'm with you and your wife. Deep Chroma Blue and the car looks freakin' gorgeous in person. I can wait a year or two and see if they import that color.

I'm maybe OK even with limited color options but don't import a car with a color I can't have and tease me with it.

What they should have done was determine features and prices for each market in advance. Then it's time to schedule the rollout in each market and publish that along with features and prices. I'm assuming they're building them all in the same factory and doing runs for different markets. OK, fine, so sell the Korean cars there first, ship the Aussie cars to Oz and roll them out on the scheduled date, same with EU and CAN and USA. Don't display non-USA spec cars here before rollout with features and colors that we can't have. That's bait-and-switch! As much as I want to see the car in person, I'd rather see the real deal. Yeah, I went and saw one but that's just because I'm weak. Hopefully, they'll learn some lessons from this debacle.
