I have some Bridgesgtone RE980 speed rated M&S tires on my 2022 Stinger GT1 so I have some winter capability.

Had to attend a funeral service away from home. Car sat outside in an airport parking lot, lows in the mid 40s for 3 days. Picked up the tire at 1030AM and got on the interstate. TX interstates aren't the smoothest. Immediately felt vibration I had never previously experienced. Had to have been flat spotting as when the tires warmed up, the vibration disappeared. First time I've seen this. Don

I've noticed that with my Nitto Motivo A/S, even sitting a day can flat spot the tires when it's cold. Haven't experienced flat spotting on Michelin or the Bridgestone Potenza on the Premium, or if I did it didn't signify as flat spotting and I just thought the road surface was causing the light vibration.

My contis do this slightly after a couple days sitting. If I accelerate hard getting on the highway before they're warmed up I really notice. Eventually once warm smooth as silk. Short sidewalls life.

This seems way too quick to be getting flat spots. What kind of tire pressure are you guys running? 38 front / 36 rear, or something lower?

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
I had this happen to me once with a set of Nokian Powerproof. It was after only a couple of days sitting in an airport parking lot.

My suspicion is it's also a matter of how fast you get up to 70+ mph. You don't usually feel vibration below 60 and unless you immediately get on a highway, the tires have time to heat up and you won't feel it. So flat-spotting might be way more common while our cars sit in the parking for days or weeks. But by the time we get out of the city the tires are up to temperature and the flat-spotting is gone.

:p

Obviously an error.

Looks like Tire Rack proof reads their content if that's easier to digest:

I'm pretty sure Don has access to google, which is where I'm sourcing this information.
This is the second article I've seen on flat spotting. Thanks.

What suprises me is that for 3 winters with the Stinger, which I bought right off the car carrier, I never had flat spotting with the Michelin Pilots. In warmer weather I got flat spotting with the Bridgestone All Season speed rated tires.

The date code on the Michelins shows a great deal of tread life left on the Michelins that I'll mount back up in the summer of 2025. Don
