Got my jb4 installed, been driving for about a week or so on map1 @ 92 octane with no problems so far. I live on the west coast, and the highest octane I have near me is 92. Tried using vp octane booster to try out map2, wondering how my logs look. Was a short pull, could get another soon.

It's not terribly bad. You have some deviations in timing that I would keep an eye on. I think Map2 is your max with the fuel you have. I assume no E-85 out there?

There is a station that sells it a little bit away from me. Don’t you mix e-85 with 92? Or is it full tank of e85?

There is a station that sells e85 semi near me, I’m just not familiar with it at all. Not sure if I run a full tank of e85 or if it’s a ratio mix like 3:1 or whatever be it. Definitely would like to NOT run octane booster constantly to run map2 as I heard it can gunk up internals pretty quickly.

E-85 is simple. Most gas stations run a winter mix which is actually E-70 ish. Put 4 gallons of E-85 (flex) to 9 gallons of gas and you will come out to E-30. There are dozens of online calculators, but each one will give you pretty close to that mix.

As @AWDGT2 mentioned, there are plenty of online calculators, which will put you somewhere in the 4.5-6 gallon per tank range, so add that the first time. After that, you don't need to run your tank down and fill up with that exact amount each time, as the mixture is pretty forgiving. You want about 1.1-1.25 gallons of E85 per quarter tank, and the rest premium. Run a few logs under different conditions to make sure you're not on the ragged edge, and you're set.

So say you're at half a tank, put in 2.2-2.5 gallons of E85, and the rest premium. You can even double check that amount with one of the calculators (say it's 2.5gal E85 and 4.5gal 92 to fill the tank), and from then on you don't have to worry about tracking what's in your tank. You have some amount of ~E30, and you're adding a partial fill (1/4, 1/2, 3/4 tank) of E30, so you'll stay around E30 until you decide to go back to straight premium.

Thank you both for replying, I really appreciate the help. I’ll get around to the station later this week and try to post some logs off the e85.
