Birthday was Thursday. Yesterday I got a 2022 Kia Stinger GT1 metallic silver RWD. The red leather interior got me. Was it a good deal? Who knows, but it’s the Wild West out there these days. Markup on financing was almost consistently 5-10,000 over MSRP. I went with a lease, got the numbers to be where I needed to and traded in my Honda Accord 2.0T (2018 60k miles). Bought the Honda a year ago and 25k miles ago for 21,000 and got 27,000 in trade in (roughly 7k in equity). 3 year/ 15k miles for 409 a month with a 24,500 buy out. Can’t really complain handed my old keys got the new keys with the intent to buy. Car has 20 miles so don’t know what it’s about yet but looking forward to asking questions.

Cars before my accord were a 335i, s4, and g37s, excited about this platform.

It's a fun car, sounds like you've had similar cars in the past so this is certainly in your wheelhouse.

Pricing seems fine.

Welcome to the hive! Post up some pics when you get a chance

Welcome! It’s supposed to be below msrp, but different times now. Sad.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Happy belated birthday and congratulations on your brand new Stinger! I’m glad you found us. :)

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
Congrats and welcome!!
Now it’s time to have fun…

Howdy and welcome. That all sounds good to me. :)

I do hope so ... I was hesitant to be honest but to get the 2450 lease incentive, knocked on msrp seems pretty okay these days as most dealers, around me at least has "market adjustments" of anything from 5-10k over msrp

Tell me about it ... I plan to buy after the lease is up, so that roughly 25k buy out seems reasonable for a 3 year old stinger GT1 with under 40,000 miles. Hopefully I am not upside down on it when that time comes but time will tell.

I also came from a 2018 Accord with the 2.0T. I loved that car. Of your car lineup, the Accord kind of stands out. Can I ask what drew you to the Accord from your previous BMWs, Infinity, Audis?

OP you put on a lot of miles, thoughts on the mileage so far? I knew it would get *worse MPGs, but I wish the Stinger had a bigger gas tank. I'm averaging about 22 MPG since getting it (4,500 miles ago) and pretty happy with it since I do a good mix of city/highway. I averaged 27 MPG over 40,000+ miles on the Accord.

I as well, LOVED that car. My Audi/BMW were just major headaches once they started hitting 60-70k miles. They were solid cars but it was all the small fixes and fuse replacements that added up to be too much for me (i.e. ballast in headlight burns out, 750$). So then I said let me go japanese for reliability. Bought my G37S with 20,000 miles and took it all the way to 140,000 miles with ZERO headache. It was fast and fun and other then tires, brakes, and oil changes I did nothing and it needed nothing. So when it was time for a new car I went with the torquy accord to replicate the reliability.

I try to stick with reliable cars now. I know they are hit or miss but heard great things about the stingers, I hope they are true.

On the accord I was getting 30-32 mpg, the Stinger has 80 miles on it so cannot really say anything. I can say though that 1/3 of the tank is gone which was filled by the dealer so not to a great start considering I drive like a grandma since it is new. We will see though!

You won't see 30MPG highway, expect at best upper 20s highway and poor city if you like to enjoy the Stinger. Most get in the 22-24mpg mixed range. If you can keep your foot out of it, mileage is fine for the amount of power on tap.

If the few overall complaints on the forum are any indication, the Stinger is holding up well in terms of drivetrain reliability. There's a few known bugs/quirks as you'll quickly learn which are well documented, use the search tool to learn about things as they come up.

Will do - hoping the 2022 models ironed "some" stuff out, but time will tell.

For some of the issues, nope. lol

That's not to say it's riddled with minor issues. They're just small nuisance things that you ask yourself "why have you still not fixed this, Kia?"

Anything that you can point out (I know it is situational) but just seeing what I can maybe expect so I can keep an eye on it.

Not everyone experiences them, and the list would be long and I wouldn't even know all of the items because I haven't experienced all of them. You'll think back to this post when you do encounter the type of problem I describe and laugh though. "Oh, that's what stoopid meant."

Hey ENSAKK,

Welcome to the Stinger Forum and congrats on your new Kia!

We have had almost identical cars in the past, I traded my 335i for my 2019 GT1.

I can honestly say, once I handed in my keys, I never looked back at my old german car.

We have a bunch of great products on our website if you are looking for any aftermarket parts.

Feel free to reach out to me in a message at any time if you have any questions or if you need a discount!

Enjoy the new ride,

Daniel @ the K8 Stinger Store
