G'day all, I live in Sydney and bought a 2018 GT with 58k on it in January of this year. Since then I have made the following changes. Flow Designs front lip splitter (self fitted), devils claws front and rear, Remus exhuast tips (self fitted), White Line front and rear sway bars (self fitted and wasn't that a fun job but ultimately very rewarding). K&N pod filters follwoed by a Unichip and tune. Paddle shift aluminium extensions, fuax carbon fibre steering wheel thingies, thought these would be a bit rubbish but me and the missus both like the feel of them. Fuax carbon fibre shift cover, door opener covers, door sill Stinger badges, door close covers. That;s about it for now. Will be getting Maxton side splitters and rear diffuser in later this year. The dyno chart shows 302kw and 720Nms. The car has lost all feeling of weight and really gives the traction control a work out. Drove in the pissing down rain yesterday, the change from 2nd to 3rd with my foot buried induces a grin creating side step before hooking up and firing into the horizon, very addicting. With these changes the car is now the car I have always wanted, haven't touched the exhoust and probably never will, it's the first trulyu quiet car I have ever owned. In fact my 88 year old father says it's the first grown ups car I've bought. The car I traded was a WRX running 250KW and 420Nms. It was fast for sure but the Stinger leaves it for dead, although I do miss that unique WRX warble. I will add pictures as soon as I can work out how to get them from my macbook.

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Congratulations on your Stinger! I’m glad to see you’ve made it your own and are enjoying it. And there IS something nice about a car with power that doesn’t attract a lot of potentially unwanted attention with a loud exhaust. :)

Welcome. Nice mod list so far.

But did you add stickers?

Howdy, finally. That was an entertaining "first post". I like a quiet cabin too and would work to make it even more quiet, not beat on my eardrums with "fart in a can" mods. :P

Welcome to the hive! Definitely post up some pics when you get a chance

I did buy some stickers, one that goes along the side skirt and also one that goes just above that. I "mock" put them on but didn't like the result. Not much money spent so not unhappy. I did change the front bonnet emblem to the new current KIA badge and I did remove all the badges from the rear and replace with a gloos black STINGER emblem. Looks much cleaner I think.

Thanks. Had a weird experience Saturday evening. Was at the kids place for fathers day dinner and went out to our parked car to put something in the back. Hit the open button and it opened as normal. I put the items in and hit the close button on the lid. I noticed that the mirrors had opened up so hit the lock button on the key fob, did this several times as nothing seemed to happen and then the engine started. WTF?? The drivers door would only unlock using the door button, I hopped in and depressed the brake pedal and the engine stopped. Took my foot off and pressed the start/stop to turn off accessories and it played the theme music, I opened the door and the seat moved back ok, hoped out, closed the door and pressed the lock button and all was well. I haven't been able to replicate starting the engine remotely, any idea's anyone?

Sounds like your car got "confused", or you did, or both of you did (working at cross purposes sort of thing). It's possible that some nearby interference was in the mix as well.

You're right on at least one count, I was confused...

I've done more limited versions of what you described (I don't have an auto-opening/closing hatch): to this day I can hit the unlock on the fob or passenger door and either relock the car (unintentionally) or fail to unlock it, and have to walk around to the driver's side to work the buttons on the inside of the door (just one example of being confused), because of the protocols inherent in the way the car allows the lock/unlock buttons on doors and fob to work while the car is running, etc.

The Accessorides remote start will start the engine by pressing the lock button three times (like 3/4 sec between presses). Once you unlock the doors, you have 45 sec to get in and press the brake pedal, or it will shbut off. The OEM remote start will also start with the correct fob button sequence, but I don't know what it is.

Thanks mate, that's good to know. I cannot find anything about it in the owners manuel which seems odd.

The factory remote start was a dealer or customer installed option in the US. Instructions on its use was not in the owners manual. Not sure about other countries.
