Hi all,

Thought I’d join the forum as I always find them a great source of info and community. I’m from Victoria Australia.

I had the opportunity to buy my first new car thanks to work so had to jump in the stinger before I missed my chance forever lol. MY23 GT in pearl white.

I also have an LS swap 86 currently in the works on my hoist at home which is my wild car.

While the mod bug normally infests and ruins my cars (I always need a daily to reply my old daily because I went too far ) I plan to keep the 7 year warranty so most mods to the car will be little things ie LED reverse globes/wireless Apple CarPlay/try and stop driver aids defaulting to full on

Thanks for reading

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. I'm glad you found us! And I'm glad you had the opportunity to get into a brand new Stinger. Congratulations! Since you already have an LS Swap 86 - I'm confident you'll feel fine with the Stinger stock. At least performance-wise. Perhaps you can keep the mods to interior and exterior cosmetic things. Check out the forum store for all sorts of interesting stuff.

Now that 86... I certainly wouldn't mind hearing more about it. What are 0-60 and 1/4 mile times like? I didn't know an LS swap was a thing for those cars... Very interesting...

I am in Melbourne. I bought a new My23 Stinger. What suburb? Don't need to catch up necessarily just for info. I am out East.

Thanks for the welcome! The stinger is definitely ticking all the boxes for me for a daily commuter and the warranty sold it for me as I’m sick of fixing dailies instead of getting to work on the race car lol. I always liked them from a distance and on paper but it wasn’t until I drove one I was like “yeah, this is the car for me!”

The 86 is currently a work in progress but they’re actually a great swap that has enough support with bolt in kits it means it can be engineered in Australia. Not cheap to be done properly but will still outperform new gen mustangs with cheaper maintenance for close if not cheaper end cost. I was a mechanic for 10 years before career change and have a mini workshop setup at home with a hoist so it’s allowing me to do it far cheaper than most.

On a stock 6.0 in engineered spec should be 250kw to the wheels and sub 1300kg with a 53/47 weight distribution. Car will be set up for street driving/drift as Victoria has quite a large scene and I’ve already done the drag racing and time attack thing

My one owner VE Commodore SSV V8 ended up out there. I picked my Stinger GT, two in fact out of the Northern suburbs earlier this year. Hichroma Red and Deep Chroma Blue.

Welcome aboard. Like most cars, there's quirks with the Stinger's but overall they are a great overall package you'll hopefully enjoy.

Crazy amount of info on this forum and a good bunch of people.

LS swapped 86 does sound like a lot of fun though.

I hope to see some track videos of the 86 one of these days. It's great to be able to work on the car at home. That's really something. And I'm glad to hear there's a large scene over there... I have something interesting coming soon that I have a VERY strong feeling is going to re-spark the love for car meets and automotive enthusiasts in general...
