I'm thinking of buying a 2018 Stinger GT2 that's about an hour from me. I've been doing a lot of research. Something I found odd is that the 2019 has an option to disable the fake engine noise, while the 2018 does not. I'm assuming Kia isn't going to backport that option.

But that's OK. Is the software that controls that on the upgradeable SD card? If so it might be possible to backport it myself after getting hold of an SD card from a 2019 Stinger. Or is there a special unit on the Stinger that contains the software? If so does anyone know how to read or write it?

I am going to go on a limb and say that this feature must in the ECU ... the SD card is for the map updates , no feature of the car itself.

There are some changes made to the UI from the SD updates. Different options in the menus, added features like reading messages over bluetooth, and graphics changes were added from my original version when I upgraded to 12.5.

No idea if it's possible to change what the OP is asking about, though.

Hi and welcome. That is an intriguing OP/intro to the forum. I have no idea. :P

I've got experiance in car hacking, and am planning to take a peak up the update process here soon. Also using the custom profile you can minimize the advanced engine noises.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...
