Hello fellow stinger owners...I'm not sure if this is the right spot for this post. I have a 2023 RW GT2. In any event, lately (maybe last 2-3 weeks) I feel a "thud" when I drive into a dip. I'm not sure thud is the right wording though. I feel it under my feet in the floorboard, but it seems more so the right side front when I go into a dip. I was thinking that maybe it was a suspension or tire thing (everything is stock in that department). I just had my tires checked at discount (though I did not tell them about the sound), I just had them rebalance the tires...so I figured they'd notice any obvious thing while the tire's were off the car. I did look under the front of the car and I don't see anything obvious. I do have the ECS hooked up... but using the standard sport and comfort. Any ideas? Maybe it's a front end part, touching another part or maybe that bottom cover? Or, maybe it's just what it is with the stock wheels and such and I need to shut up?

Is it loud or soft? Metallic? Does it repeat? I am not sure what you are describing when you say a "dip". Is this a pit in the road, not quite a pothole? Is this a slow speed thing when crossing gutters? Or only when you're moving at normal driving speeds? What about speed bumps?

It's not really a sound...as much as it's a feel. I can best describe it as a bottoming out type of thing. If I hit a pothole 'dip in the road' on my right side front wheel, I feel it the most. It's a quick vibration of some some sort under the gas pedal (floorboard) at the moment I hit the pothole or dip. It then goes away, until the next pothole 'dip in the road'. My first thought was a loose lugnut, as it sounded almost like a shift of my tire on the stud(s). I guess maybe that's another description. If you're putting your tire on the studs before putting on the lugs and you move the tire around on the studs...that sound. That's why I took it to discount to have them rebalanced and "reinstalled", so to speak. It may just be the rubber band stock wheels on the stock rims just doing what they do because there's no give.

I had a similar problem. The way you described a feeling of a thud instead of hearing is what I was experiencing. I could definitely hear it but you could feel it way more. My issue ended up being a bad strut mount. I don't think the replacement made it go away completely, but it made it bearable. 2018 gt2 RW with 58k miles.

Given that piece of info, I’d check the strut mount nuts at the least. On a 2023 I would hope it’s not shot just quite yet. Just pop the hood and check the three nuts around the strut opening.

if they’re tight, next ones to check are the tie rod and sway bar bolts. Then the lower control arms. hope you find it.

Is the issue repeatable? Can you always duplicate the issue over a known dip? With a know speed.

If you have the Mando ECS10, you could try a basic custom profile setting the compression damping to about 80%, and see how differently it feels/sounds.

This could perhaps help to pinpoint the source.

I'll give the strut mount more of a look, as well as underneath. I didn't have a chance this weekend to life her up and take the wheels off to get a better look, but will this coming weekend.

Yes, repeatable...almost everyday on my way to work in the morning on the same few dips. I'll give the 80% setting a shot, I was actually diddling with it this morning on the way to work... but didn't want to take my focus off the traffic too much.
