This morning my FCA (front crash avoidance) and LKA (lane keep assist) warning lights both came on and disabled each system. The two warning lights, as well as the little "system light" (triangle with exclamation point) were present. The owners manual wasn't very helpful as "have dealer perform inspection" was their only recommendation to resolve.

I'm really not sure what is going on here. I washed the car yesterday (softly, with a microfiber mitt, rinsed and dried), I don't have anything mounted on my dash or windshield, and the car is brand new. I believe the LKA system is monitored through the cameras up top, behind the rear view mirror. I'm not certain about where the FCA system is located.

I am entirely frustrated with this because 1) the car only has 700 miles on it as of this morning and 2) washing the car should not cause these issues. On my way to work, I stopped for fuel, and each time (home to gas & gas to work) the sensors faulted. I wiped the area of the windshield in front of the cameras when I parked at work, but not sure that will do anything.

Any advice on what is going on would be appreciated. Otherwise, I've started a service request with my local dealer.

Sh!t happens. You have a warranty. Probably a loose connection or short.

Only the dealer can help.

I doubt it’s a big deal.

It’ll be fine.

So I understand the point you're making, but IMO having anything fail on $45k car with such low mileage is not at all ensuring of quality; no matter how many "E for Excellence" badges you slap on. I bought a new car because I was tired of driving a POS.

BTW: Took it to the dealer. Have to "wait a couple days" while the new camera sensor is ordered. Hopefully this is a solution to an uncommon issue.

Glad there is a solid warranty. I feel like I'm going to need it. :cautious:

I hope everything gets resolved for you soon. But the reality is, the more toys you have, the more likely something will break. Things will happen regardless of make, model or even cost. I've had brand new MBZ vehicle with defective headlight unit at 400 miles, and that sucker was MSRP at over 60K. Special ordering of that part took 3 weeks. Hope you still get to enjoy the Stinger, and gives it a proper break in.

By this logic Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bugatti don’t even need to offer warranties.

There is no such thing as a zero percent failure rate from a parts supplier (OEM or 3rd party).

I bought the extended warranty specifically because of all the electronics. Things break even new things. No one is perfect think of all that has gone into the car to make it as flawless as possible. Every car will have some kind of issue even new cars. Even cars that you spend 100k for they will all have problems that's what warranties are for.

So I'm new to the Kia Service experience. My case has been referred to techline for recommendation. I stopped at the dealer Monday, called back yesterday for an update (nothing), now just waiting. How long does this type of ordeal usually take?

For anyone wondering the outcome of this... *faces toward the void*

Kia service department ordered another camera sensor unit (the one up top by the rear view mirror). A pin on the original sensor was bent and not making good contact with the plug, which lead to the malfunction of the mentioned safety systems. In total, I waited a week for the part, 2.5 hours for install and calibration, and now things are good as new.

Overall, can’t complain too much, just stressful considering a new car. Glad to have the warranty coverage; the process was easy. Plus I got to make good acquaintance with shop manager.

Looks like i'm in the same boat. Part has been ordered. Just waiting for it to arrive so they can replace it.

Sorry to hear it. How many miles in are you? The hardest part was waiting for the service department to get the part in. Took a couple weeks IIRC.

Definitely annoying, but easily fixable. My new sensor is still going strong after the replacement.
