2021 Tyre Reviews UHP Summer Tyre Test - Tyre Reviews and Tests
Seems a lot like my general feelings, and similar to tirerack reviews.
1. If $$ is no object, best all-around performance for mostly street and some track is Pilot Sport 4 / 4s.
2. Bridgestone makes some good tires. And some not-so-good. The bars-of-soap OEM Potenzas that cost $250+ each on my 2005 Legacy GT soured me on Bridgestone A LOT. They were disgustingly bad in the wet, as in fishtailing as bad/worse than our '79 Dodge RWD. And cost more than Pilot Sports for that car.
3. Falken FK-510 is a good all-around budget option for dry/wet. If you rarely drive in the wet, Firestone Indy 500 seem pretty good as well - not available in the UK, seemingly.
4. If you have specific needs, such as lots of track, lots of wet, etc, you may want to pick something else.
5. You generally get what you pay for, up to a point.
In general, can't go wrong with a Michelin Pilot tire, other than possibly buying more tire than you use / need.
