Fatherhood made me trade in my Miata. Curious on what my path should be as far as the dealer.

Hello, after a few weeks of a serious car hunt, just picked up a 2022 Stinger GT1 in Ascot green yesterday with 19k miles. Swapped from a 2017 Miata RF GT. Loving having 6 cylinders again, but only traded it in because something about having to be able to fit a child in the car...

Curious on what my path should be as far as the dealer. The side chrome trim has oxidized quite a bit, from what I've read, that is under the warranty? Since it is at 19k miles it's smack dab in the middle of the maintenance window, but the CarFax doesn't show much of a car history, so I have no idea how it was previously maintained. Should I bring it into a dealership and have them do a maintenance cycle and try to get the chrome replaced? Would that screw up the maintenance windows?

Interested in your guys thoughts, loving the car so far!

Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Since your topic is more of "assistance needed" than an introduction, I moved it into the main Kia Stinger forum and out of the community lounge. I'm glad you found us! And congratulations on your new Stinger!

trim is warrantied to 36 months or 36, 000 miles whichever comes first. a cpo gives the full remaining warranty to the second owner. if it isn't cpo I don't know how warranty works I just know it is less than full.

20k maintenance? thats just an oil change. inspect tires, brake pads, air filters, battery terminals, and maybe change the cabin filter. i'm sure the dealer would be glad to charge you $$$ for that LOL.

if you don't know, oil changes involve removing the belly pan. i thought this was kinda stupid, so i bought a vacuum pump oil extractor - you still have to get under the car to do the oil filter, but at least you don't have to deal with removing the under-tray.

Brake fluid and air cabin filter gets replaced every 20k here in Australia. I just got mine done at the dealership.

From interior to exterior to high performance - everything you need for your Stinger awaits you...

Thanks for the info. What is the “belly pan”/“under tray”, and how do you remove it? Are you saying that the oil drain plug is covered by the belly pan? What kind of fasteners hold it in place? Pardon me if these have already been asked/answered. I’m new to the forum and still learning/searching it.

its the cover underneath the front of the car, made of some cheap fiber material. if put back on incorrectly, it can get shredded/mangled/fall off and is not cheap to replace.

i have never removed mine (went straight to the oil extractor for first oil change LOL), but there's a number of bolts and plastic fasteners. search for "KIA Stinger oil change" on Youtube to get an idea ...
